Our stupid AD, as are many others, is so afraid of missing the exception that he goes against the rule. It is rare that unless you are looking at a big time conference finish and bowl win in the first 2 seasons that some other team is going to snatch your coach. It is also rare that a coach who has 3 bad to average at best seasons at a program goes on to have success at that program. Hence you should NEVER give a contract extension to a coach before year 3 without a conference title or 10 win season under the belt. Had we followed this advice with Holgorsen and Neal, we could've saved WVU football 9 years of futility. And I know Holgorsen had the Orange Bowl, but that was partially Stewart and had we waited for his 3rd season crap fest, we would've been able to avoid wasting 5 more seasons.
