Can someone give me the background here again. The coach of their select team has a son that's transferring from OM's baseball program after he didn't play this year, and that supposedly is pushing these guys away from OM and to MSU?

That about sum it up?

If you believe the Ole Miss spin, yes. But we have a number of those DD players committed to us, and I believe they are recruiting the others very hard. The stadium plans did not hurt the situation I am assuming.

In Bianco's defense, I think he did the right thing. Rumor was that Dulin wasn't the best teammate. Have to get a Rebel to confirm that, though. Cliff Godwin leaving them doesn't help their recruiting either.

Either way, great time to be a Bulldog Baseball fan. Not sure if this class is as good as the Mike Zunino Florida class, but it's good enough.

I despise hyperbole and don't throw out ridiculous, unsubstantiated assessments. This class just may what you're almost suggesting. It's approaching incredible. It might be the best time to be a Bulldog fan in a decade or more. Forget the CWS team. Love that team. The teams that will play in 2016 forward will be more talented. Absolutely.

PM me if someone wants the real story about Tim Dulin. Let's not oversell the ability a summer coach has to "steer" baseball kids anywhere. Generally, these kids have very involved and pretty informed parents. If anything, the parents and teammates are the ones that do the steering. Dulin's has been a pipeline for OM for a long time -- but it's been a pipeline to everyone else as well, it just so happens that OM makes more geographical sense for most of the kids on a Memphis-based summer program. Tim Dulin isn't deciding for these kids where they go to college -- he's just providing the avenue for them to get exposure and opportunities.

Let's keep this thread about Barlow -- a top 500 prospect in his own right. The 2015 class is just becoming a case of total ridiculousness...

What made that class so ridiculous was the fact that it showed up on campus -- with a couple of hugely high-profile guys that spurned early-round MLB offers...

We can't in good faith compare ourselves to that class until after the signing deadline next July...

It would great if some of you baseball guru's would break down all of the committed players as to which year they will get here. Confusing as hell to get commits from 3 or so different years down the road. I hear of folks talking about top 5 ranked classes....is that next years class that will get here Aug of '15 or are you talking about later than that?

Mainly want to see how much longer before we start sitting on top of the perch where we belong.

I'll say ditto to Lumpy, love Baseball, don't have time to keep up with HS junior commits, can someone give us a rundown?

Come on, even the greatest of homers knows it's not just a coincidence that a player leaves a school because he and his dad were upset he didn't get the playing time he thought he deserved (despite not being good enough for this level) and, within a month, two players on his dad's select team decommit from that school.

There's no doubt that it helped. For all we know, these recruits are friends with the Dulin son. But there are several other factors to go on top of that. I think of it as a perfect storm for us.

Yeah -- has nothing to do with the ace-recruiting assistant that was actually largely responsible for your resurgent success leaving. That couldn't have anything at all to do with it...

Way more likely that a guy that has actually put kids into over half of the SEC in the past 3-4 years is powerful enough to tell these affluent kids and families where their sons will be spending the next 3-5 years of their life against their will... That's why Dulins Dodgers have always just signed with Ole Miss and now that Tim Dulin is mad, the pipeline is cut off(in spite of 3 Dodgers still being committed to OM)...

Yes, he's pissed at Ole Miss. No he does not have a good reason to be. He just makes a very convenient scapegoat to explain away reality.

Let's be honest about this. If Tim Dulin's son is starting at 2B for OM, these guys are going to OM. His son is a marginal SEC talent, and Daddy was upset his son was not told he would not be the starting 2B. Our good fortune, but not surprising or great recruiting get, considering the situation. Traditionally SEC baseball commits have stuck, no matter how early the commit, so Duliin is playing with fire by encouraging these players to change their commitments. SEC schools will be more careful recruiting his players if Dulin continues down this path. Daddy got pissed off and we benefited!

Don't tell engie that. It had nothing to do with it, for sure. Just a coincidence. They just liked State more and because one coach left, they're switching to an instate rival.

There was a linebacker, from Philadelphia, I think. His name escapes me right now, but I am overcome with a feeling of irony reading your post. Something about a Diaz? I want to say the kid developed into a hellacious scooter rider. Oh hell, I'll never remember.

Are you implying these kids and their families are mindless pawns to the evil, conniving Tim Dulin that has supplied your school with it's most consistent pipeline over the years and has 3 current players still committed to you? I'm just curious, so clear it up for me..

Your recruiting coach that was the main reason for your commitment leaving + 4 teammates committed and recruiting you hard is damn sure a more plausible reason than a travel coach you are around 8-10 weekends a year getting his panties in a wad and forcing affluent families to change college allegiances against their will. But you won't admit it to yourself -- because it requires admitting that we've cut into your most consistent and fruitful pipeline. Obviously the only way that would ever happen is shenanigans**

The idiocy of some of you about baseball recruiting is astounding. The "let's take what we think we know about basketball and football recruiting and apply it to baseball" approach basically.

I heard when this kid came here for an official, somebody in the Left Field Lounge tore his credential off his neck. That really sold him on us.

Don't forget the catfishing trip to the south farm aquaculture facility.
