Now for some good news. The NCAA recently received something of interest about TSUN's recruiting practices. We'll see if it leads to anything. Don't have a lot of faith in the NCAA but this could get interesting.

By the way, a lot of chatter out there that the TSUN has gotten a Letter of Inquiry for something. Anybody know (or heard) anything about that?

Jesus.... every year it's the same. Eventually, one year it is true. And I am not trashing your fan-base.... because our dumb-***** say the same thing about MSU every year, but it's just old. Is there an investigation? I'm sure that one day there will be.... hope not..... but maybe one day. Wouldn't ever surprise me. College football is a dirty business, and Ole Miss and State are the scape goats when it's time to punish someone. With all of the recent NCAA / FBI investigation (thanks to your own coach), I'm sure MSU is under a lens right now..... and probably why you guys are losing recruits (not able to "play the game" right now). Neither Ole Miss or MSU is clean, and neither is more dirty than the other. Just drop this crap.

I suspect Dan and MSU will turn them in for it. Just like they did with Cam Newton.

Now, the real question is will anything happen, if that is indeed the case.

This kind of stuff is said pretty much ever year, because it goes on just about every year. Everyone is dirty. Eventually Ole Miss will get busted. So will we. Obviously it's worth the risk.

OM is simply better than MSU at protecting itself. We allow things like the interim president Lee debacle to happen whereas OM never does.

OM hires someone like Orgeron who recruits a school decimated by a hurricane, but walks away like a politition who just tapped the foot of the person in the next stall.

And the FBI deal doesnt have a damn thing to do with Mullen. I know he pisses you off and all. ****, I wish he would stop with the ***** slapping. But that FBI investigation was about human trafficing and the role that agents play in the 'selling' of kids to schools and to the pros. In our ONLY smart media/political move of the past 50 years we beat a news source to the punch and released a damning story first.

We lost ONE recruit that we never had. Brassell. He was never coming to state.

But that **** about one not being more dirty than the other is bull and you know it.

OM has had to overcome some serious hurdles with all the symbols over the last 15 years that MSU didnt. You outworked us in the recruiting game. But stop with the pretendingthe cheating was the same.

I'm calling ********.

I agree, and it's why I don't post 99% of stuff I hear. When I do post anything, like I did above, I try to keep it generic. You'll never see me piling on, or bringing up another school cheating because I think (know) we all live in glass houses. The problem is -- you never know which message board geniuses to believe, whose sources are real and whose are not. You don't know me from Adam, and I don't know what to tell you about this latest stuff other than the guy who told me would know. Like I said earlier, I kind of doubt anything will come of it, mostly because nothing ever does... That doesn't make the rumors untrue. I could post details but I don't think you want that, and I have no interest in calling people out just because y'all got a wide receiver or LB we wanted. It's not worth it. I just thought I'd confirm what the original poster said.

College football is a dirty business, and Ole Miss and State are the scape goats when it's time to punish someone. With all of the recent NCAA / FBI investigation (thanks to your own coach),

So the Cam Newton debacle is all Mullen's fault? That just sounds bitter. Blame Kenny Rogers, Cecil, Cam Almighty, Auburn. But Mullen? I can't blame Mullen for being pissed off about what Auburn did. He really got jobbed, and he was then asked to shut up about it. I'd be pissed off too. And I agree he/we didn't do a good enough job of silencing it quickly, but some of that was due to other idiots running their mouths, and some was due to trying to be good citizens for the SEC. (Why we would want to help that bastard Slive is whole other subject.) Anyway, y'all need to move on from blaming Dan for everything.

I'm sure MSU is under a lens right now..... and probably why you guys are losing recruits (not able to "play the game" right now).

Uh... good guess.

Neither Ole Miss or MSU is clean, and neither is more dirty than the other.

I would have to agree here typically, but there are two key differences between this year and most -- 1. as you said above, we are under a microscope right now; and 2. Nutt et al have a good bit of pressure this year. They feel a little desperate, so they are pulling out all the stops. That is not a slam, just speaking the truth. I don't blame them, they need to pounce while we are handcuffed this year.

Just drop this crap.

I would love it, but I think the only way to avoid that is if you stay off message boards this time of year. I don't like the back and forth **** either, but it will not stop.

There is no way you are stupid enough to believe this. This coming from a fan of a school that employed Jackie Sherrill. And for the record, and I have said this 1000 times, IT ISN'T THE SCHOOLS CHEATING. It is the fanbase. And again, if you think it is only Ole Miss boosters that cheat and your boosters just sit on the sideline and watch, well.....I don't think we can even have a discussion because you aren't smart enough to do so.

With Auburn getting such a sweet deal (even if it bites them eventually, it will easily be worth it unless they get the death penalty, which won't happen), everyone is wanting to copy them. Eventually, a school named Ole Miss, MSU, UK, or maybe USCe will get tagged and made an example of.Between MSU having to worry about extra scrutiny from Slivefor not being even more of a team player than they were, and also Mullenbeing too young inhis career to want a quick fix, MSU is not going to be able to pay like other schools.

Strangely, the NCAA got something of interest from an Alabama fan recently claiming that Cam Newton is a cyborg, and therefore ineligible to compete in collegiate athletics.

you come here, spend no time establishing an identity, and start throwing **** all over the board without a shred of evidence. I don't mean to ratchet up the general level of vitriol but you sir are a douchebag and you can go @%%@ yourself. Please, keep your stupid ******** to yourself. If you want to come back and be the recruiting guru next year then spend a little time posting on the board between now and then. Right now you are just some ******* troll who showed up to have some fun.

On top of that, Slive is going to be forced by the NCAA to change the SEC's violation reporting practices. The whole Newton deal brought to light that different conferences handled reporting differently.

Slive's rule was 'report it to me, so I can see if it's possible to sweep it under the rug', so that I can create my probation free conference. Other conferences would actually report violations directly to the NCAA. Slive is going to blame you, most likely, for forcing the change on him.

By the way, I do think Slive's violation rule is a big part of the reason why the SEC has 5 straight BCS titles. In the 90s, programs were cannibalizing each other with infraction wars. It's not really good for anyone to get into that. It's almost better for the league as a whole with the 'gentlemen's agrement' type way of operating.

I'm pretty sure there weren't alot (any?) six figure payments by any SEC schools in the previous decade before Cam. Auburn got butt hurt that Bama got a better coach than them (after chasing out the guy that had done as good as any Auburn coach was ever going to do) and decided to start a 17ing arms race in dirty recruiting. Now things are going to ratchet up until somebody gets hit with serious probation. One of the small schools not named Vandy is going to get hammered. I just hope Auburn gets hammered too since their the ones that 17ed up a good system.

that as long as Slive is around SEC teams are free to do pretty much whatever they want in recruiting without fear of consequence. To suggest something might actually be done about NCAA rule infractions in the SEC, at least in football, is at this point laughable.
