QB- Tyler and Dak are pretty much even. Reps, performance, everything. I gues that means that at worse Dak have progressed tremendously since last spring

RB- Robinson and Milton were out with flu. LD and Griffin look as they could be a nice 1-2 punch

WR/TE- Looked better. Morrow and Robert Johnson look like breakout candidates. They didnt drop much like reported last year.

OL- Needs to improve. Got a lot more bodies than last year, more depth. I thought Day and Malone looked good (both started). Holley and Beckwith looked good with 2's. Siddoway is huge and was w/2's but I didnt really take anything away from practice on him. Not sure how much Clausell progressed, but he didnt get destroyed or catch any screens as positives.

DL- Boyd and Jones stated at DT. Boyd looked dominant. Autry looked lightning quick off the end. All of our other DE's are huge (6'4 and up). Cherrington has lost weight and Quay is just a space eater at this point. Wislon constantly told him where to line up, but hell, he's still supposed to be in hs

LB- Cam,Skinner, and McKinney started. Good lookin group. Mckinney has a frame where he could be a monster in 4 years. He's 6'5 230 right now and looks like he could hold well over 250 easily. Didnt see Wells take any reps here. Saw him working with DB. Skinner is also directing the D like Cam making sure we're lined up, very vocal. Bohanna and Hughs were w/ 2's

DB-We a sick at CB. Banks is a coach on the field. Constantly helping the young guys. W/out Nickoe, S was a scarey looking position. The young guys we have arent ready. They got beat consistently in 1 on 1's and scrimmage. We will probably shuffle Slay or Broomfield to a safety.

Side Notes- Mirando is hilarious (yells 17 non stop). Collins and Wilson are very involved teachers. They engange all the players and are very high energy. We should do whatever it takes to keep Wilson. At one point in practice, he pulled Autry. Autry wasnt happy and wasnt willingly accepting his coaching. Wilson followed him all the way to the sideline while "coaching him" and made him do up downs (40 of them). He put him back in a few plays later when McCardell screwed up and Autry immediately blew by Clausell (before the play Wilson kept saying, "Come on Denico, show me that speed"). Seems like Wilson is a great teacher and knows how to press the right buttons.

I love this (from Marcello tweet).

At practice: DL coach Chris Wilson just yelled at a gimpy DE Shane McCardell to get off field. "Denico, you got a promotion!" Wilson barks.

IfiguredWells would end up playing DB, and I'm very worried about our o-line. We have to have our juco guys step up in order to have asuccessfulseason.

was handling Denico regularly too though in 1 on 1 drills.

Edited to say I was at practice Saturday and thought Sam Cowart threw a better ball than Dak did. Dak threw a lot of wobblers, not floaters, but bad wobble with lack of spiral. Tyler and Cowart were throwing darts. That said, if you can't hit the broad side of a barn it doesn't matter if its a dart or wobbler. They were throwing to managers, trainers, etc in spots, no real routes so don't read too much into it though......

All the team got in 2 lines stretching the field. The end the d and o line were on was the opposite side that they let fans watch. We were on the side of the wr and db's. I was kinda bummed about this but I did see Jameon Lewis blow Kendrick Market up!

I hear you on the safeties. I don't have to see practice to know that if we don't get Nickoe back or move Banks, we are going to be in a world of hurt there. Interesting on Wells, I wonder if he is getting move back to safety. I would be all for that.

someone made the comment that Autry was getting manhandled but that he was only a JUCO and then the comment was made that yeah but the one beating him is a JUCO too. That is paraphrased but close

Even though he was on the depth chart as a LB. It's scary to think about Louis Watson playing safety. And none of the backups made any kind of impact last year (was it Hughes that got a decent amount of playing time?) I'm still puzzled why Dee Arrington did not redshirt. I figured he was a guy that could grow into a decent LB.

I've got high hopes for Market, but having Wells & Whitley back there seems like the way to go.

Watson and Market did not appear to be ready. Not even close really. As far as
coverage skills, I was impressed with Rishaun McCaleb (juco walkon). He has nice size and athleticism. As far as our scheme, I have no idea if he knows how to play safety

I think the last time I was not was back in the late 90's. It's either they are young or there is no depth. Maybe the o-line coach can get the CC guys ready to play by next season.

Anyone who thinks Broomfield may move to safety should no longer be able to post on football related threads. He is 5'7 170lbs. Did you see what happened to him in the South Caroline game last year?

Who doesn't fit?
Charles Mitchell
Wade Bonner
Nickoe Whitley
Corey Broomfield
