Not sure if this link worked because my computer is acting screwy today but this kid is a seriously good kicker. I have watched him play some this year and he routinely puts kickoffs out of the endzone and makes 40+ yarders like chip shots.

There was an interesting article in the DJ the other day about how Heath Hutchinson worked with him over the summer.

Well, if he wants to go somewhere where there won't be much competition, he can come on down to Starkville. Bell tried his damnedest to miss that 40 yarder early in OSU game, and then he yanked the living hell out of that 35 yarder later on. I tried to give the kid the benefit of the doubt last year since I think he was 18 years old for the majority of the season, but the guy is just not accurate.

I really think the backup Sobiesk is more accurate than Bell. At least he was in high school. Go back and look at their senior year high school stats. Bell was only 4-of-8 while Sobiesk was something like 14-of-17. I don't think Bell will ever be more than a 65% kicker for us, which is what he was last year. Apparently Sobiesk wanted to redshirt last season so Bell was the starter by default, but there might be a kicking competition between those two this year.

Bell never gets a clean hit on the football. All of his kicks, even the ones he makes, are sidewinding or struggle to get over the uprights. He will cost us a game this year if he does not get it together.

He can't be much worse than Bell. I saw Bell's HS stats back when people were raving about this great kicker we had committed. Wondered then how if he can't make more than that kicking off a tee at extra wide uprights he was such a great kicker.
