There is a company that disassembles airplanes there. Perhaps the planes are about to be junked.

There's a company in Stuttgart, AR like that.

It's weird when you drive north from Stuttgart and see a Lufthansa airlines 747 sitting in the middle of rice fields with some Southwest Airlines jets.

Universal Asset Management has a aircraft recycling company that is located in the old National Guard facility. They disassemble the large planes, sell the usable parts, and then scrap the aluminum bodies. There is more than 7 or 8. Usually more like 10-20. Most of the jets have logos from foreign countries.

For a while there was a Pokemon themes on from Nippon Airways that cracked me up every time I drove by.

Sounds like the Roswell, NM, airport every time I go there. Seriously, look at that airport on the Google Earth.

Damn that`s interesting...dozens of planes. That town is full of mobile homes and they`re not double wides either...place looks rough even from space.

Tupelo recently had to spend 500K to fix the airport taxiways and plane parking area because those heavy *** jets were tearing up the asphalt. The airport is pretty much dead since Delta pulled out. Your better off hitch hiking to Memphis instead of flying on Silver Airways.
