Which is why I asked... Here's a back story on just WHY I am not on here as much as I want to be, or up to speed as much as I prefer: I just retired from the USAF in Feb after 22 years and frankly most of it was getting burned out and sick of the politics at the senior enlisted ranks (I retired as an E-7/Master Sergeant). I was unemployed until this summer, where I finally got picked up for a Federal Position here at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. Well gee, imagine that! Your priorities change a whole crap ton when you have to worry about ensuring your wife and kids have shelter and putting food on the table, while we all barely get by on a retirement pension in support of them… Why should I be worrying about the upcoming renovation of the football field surface or anything else not a priority at that moment versus having the opportunity to mention and ask now after things are starting to stabilize? Gee, how dare I put my priorities into proper perspective? How dare I ask a simple question in order to get up to speed? Right Vault? Because where I came from, NOT asking even the simplest question to ensure you were on the 'same sheet of music' could get people hurt, or even killed. Granted, this is none of that, but again the principle of just asking is the crux. FACT: Post 9-11 Veterans (and military retirees too) have a much harder time finding a job right now than the non-military person. It is even more difficult statistically than what the retirees were dealing with prior to 9-11... So, even though I have a job, plus supplemental pension, my focus is on my job, progressing in it to promote and regain income equivalent, or better, that I had while in the military to live comfortably. My family and I stayed with family in N Virginia, while I searched for jobs and hoped, just maybe, I would get an interview for a decent job close to home. Well, I am not close to home, but I am thankful to have this job. There’s been a lot of that with military families of late… even more than the average ‘Joe Citizen’ is aware of, versus being out on the street and homeless. And yet, we have some ignorant 'kids' who throw out the 'you must not be a real fan because...' bull s**t (Yes I am talking to you Vault and to an extent you too BubbamanWV) that feel they have a right to receive an explanation when one shouldn’t be given. Honestly, I am under no obligation to provide one to either of you even though I did. Or, any other Jackwagon that thinks they’re entitled to one as to why I may not be up to speed presently. Does that answer your presumptuous and pretentious comments and questions?
