For all of you who were wanting Turner Gill at MSU, U Conn just handed his butt to him. Someone call Barkley and ask him if Auburn would have been better with him too. maybe between beers and oral sex, Barkley could give us a good reason how he could win in the SEC.

what does one game really prove? The guy took the worst program in college football and turned it into a winner in 3 years. He can coach. I'm not saying he'd be better than Mullen or even Chizik (probably would be better than chizik though) but it's one game. Big deal.

Turner would be wise to stay and build the program and seek a bigger program later. Turner stepped into a JWS situation. The previous coach got a bunch of those guys in and Turner took advantage of it.

Sidebar: the BCA does not do black coaches any favors be requiring schools interview AA candidates. I blv he has the opposite effect.

The BCA doesn't have the power to require anything. Nobody has to interview a black coach if they don't want to. But I do believe the NCAA should institute a Rooney Rule for college football. I never would have thought it would have worked in the NFL, but after several years, the proof is there that it does work in the NFL. It's an open question whether it would work in the college game, what with boosters having a lot more power than any NFL fans do. But it couldn't hurt, and it certainly wouldn't have the opposite effect (really, how could we possibly have fewer black coaches in big-time college football?).
