Coach Jack Turner stepping down as head football coach at Carroll County today. I know they are a 3A school, although they play alot of teams on this board.

Any word as to why? I know he has dealt with some health issues in the past. Turner is an acquired taste for a lot and his coaching style is in your face, but the man loves the game, sometimes too much..

The news paper just quoted personal reasons.

A lot of rumors floated around the Riner area when he quit there. Not so sure his departure from Auburn was for health issues.

I know for a fact they weren't health related when he left auburn...had to do with the stud RB leaving im pretty sure....but I know it wasn't health related

I’ve always been under the impression that Nelson left because Turner left? That’s the story I was told not sure tho. I do remember that he was a man among boys. The kid refused to go down. It was few and far in between to see one guy tackle him. Did he ever go anywhere? Does anybody know?

He went to Concord in West Virginia. Don't think the program did much but I'm pretty sure he played.
