"In practice, we come in every day trying to get better. That's the difference from now to a couple of games ago. Everybody's really understanding how to win now and that we can win. <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(153, 0, 51);">We're not going to use young as an excuse</span>. We're young, but we can play."</p>

I like his attitude and like his un-Polk attitude

good for him

first step to success in athletics for a player @ MSU: pattern your attitude to be the exact opposite of Polk & Croom.

We would never have had a remote chance of coming back yesterday. If he had not hit his 3s in the first half, we probably would have been down somewhere in the neighborhood of 51-20 at the half. I know he didn't finish strong since everyone else picked it up in the 2nd half, but in my mind , he was the player of the game.

Turner took a hard foul from #31, got popped in the mouth. After a few seconds he started walking over to the bench signalling he wanted to come out. Stans talked to him a few seconds and kept him in the game, basically wouldn't let him come out. That kid is as tough as nails. (Can't remember but I'd bet he make both foul shots as well).

Several rough fouls yesterday..
Barry had several scratches on his face and nose from his encounter with the arkansas bench.
and John Pelphrey is a whiny little *****, it was funny watching him cry to the refs and throw temper tantrums, pouting, crossing his arms and slamming his feet down
when he didnt get his way.

I just think overall our starting 5 is very tough. Barry may be the least tough, but Dee, Ravern, Phil, and Jarvis dont mind letting a game get physical. I think late in games that is helping us. When another team gets physical, we dont let that get to us. We never respond to a hard foul, we just kind of quietly go about our business and dont let it get to us. I think one thing Rick has done more this year is to not let our young team get too emotional. I specifically remember yesterday when Romero missed his 2 free throws he was throwing his arms and getting pretty emotional. That next Arky possession they came down and hit a big 3 to cut our lead to 2 and Osby pretty much threw a temper tantrum cuz he was pissed. Stans called a timeout and sat him on the bench and talked to him as if to say "hey, you need to calm down because youre getting way too emotional." Its good to see him recognize things of that nature with such a young team and deal with it right there.

Barry the least tough? Seriously? There is no way that Jarvis or Ravern are tougher than Barry.

Jarvis gets pushed around on the block against anybody with size (Yancy Gates, Michael Washington...). Ravern doesn't even do the full shoulder bump with Chris Gay when they announce the starters. Phil is the only one of the starting 5 that is comparable in toughness to Barry.
