ok- I was incorrect on the BCS mission statement...but I'm dead-on about no rematch<div>
</div><div>Ok St or Va tech deserves it over Bammer...2nd place in the West belongs in the Sugar Bowl- not the BCS game</div><div>
</div><div>Bama wins- no clear cut champ</div><div>Ok St or Va Tech wins- they did something Bammer and Oregon couldnt</div><div>

you seem smart enough to know the difference between opinion and fact.

And under your approach, Virginia Tech shouldn't get another shot at Clemson in the ACC championship game since they already lost to Clemson once. What happens if Va. Tech wins? There won't be a clear-cut ACC champion? Should they play a third game?

Your post implies that the BCS is infallible.<div>
</div><div>I think Bama is the second best team. I believe Oklahoma State should play for the national title over them. You say these two things don't compute because the BCS says the two best teams play for the title. I say I don't really give a **** what the BCS says because I don't agree with its criteria. A team that lost on its home field should not get a rematch against the team that beat it for the national title.</div>

You just made the rematch peoples point. There is no playoff. Therefore when LSU beat Bama, they did not eliminate them. There is no rule stating you have to win your conference championship, and the rule says the #1 vs #2 play in the game. If that is LSU and Bama, so be it. They deserve to play each other.<div>
</div><div>And for the 'if you dont win your conference championship'people, what if Georgia beats LSU? You would seriously say that neither LSU nor Bama deserve to be in the championship game? Thats ludicrous. You really think that Virginia Tech vs Oklahoma St. would determine the best team in the nation? And that's assuming they even win their games, which is definitely not a given. Say all three teams lose tomorrow, who deserves to go?</div>

If Okie State makes it over Bama, I will be perfectly fine with it. I personally feel Bama and LSU are the top two teams and therefore should play for the national championship. The BCS supposedly picks the top two teams, so if you think Bama is number 2 then, based on how the BCS works, thats who should be in the championship. For you people who say they shouldn't be allowed to play because they didn't win the SEC, that is not a rule, so why are you using that argument? I could say I don't think Stephen Strasburg should be allowed to pitch in the MLB because he throws too fast, but that is not a rule, and therefore doesn't mean a dang thing.<div>
</div><div>By the way, if OSU plays LSU, that would be good for the SEC. I mean we would hate for our unblemished BCS NC record to get a loss to it, and thats exactly what would happen with 2 SEC teams in there.</div>

I think that is the way it should be looked at if LSU does not **** the bed against Georgia

The championship game is the CHAMPIONSHIP game...no holds barred, winner take all.

If Bama wins by 7 on a neutral field (probably more like a home game for LSU) then I would be even more confident that they are the #1 team because it was as close to a tie as you can get nowadays on Bama's HOME-FIELD.

Whats wrong with a rematch anyway? Nobody complains in other sports, or even the NFL. Rematches are great. LSUvsBama would be like a heavyweight boxing rematch after the initial fight went 12 rounds then went to decision (compare simile of a judges decision to a few fortuitous breaks that LSU got)

If you take out the negative attitude towards a rematch, then it is basically a no-brainer for an LSUvsBama national championship.....Unless your also against 2 teams from the same conference in a national championship. That would be a legitimate argument in my eyes, but not the no-rematch crap.

Is your LSU-bias compelling you to argue for an easier opponent for your TIGAHS?

he's not all that concerned about what is "right" or "fair"... he just wants that T-shirt... and he wants OK ST to deliver it to him!

The thing about not winning the SEC is bogus. That is purely a result of the way the divisions are set up...we have the 4th best team in the SEC playing for the title, while the 2nd and 3rd best teams have to sit at home.<div>
</div><div>It is bothersome to me to think that Bama could beat LSU and claim a title when LSU already beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. But that is really the only hang-up I have with the rematch.</div><div>
</div><div>Honestly, I think it will turn out to be moot, b/c I think LSU will win the rematch. They are the better team.</div>
