where would he rank in the SEC?<div>
</div><div>I would submit that he is not better than Richardson, Lattimore or Dyer...</div><div>
</div><div>Stacy (Vandy) has decent numbers, as well... Ballard is also good....</div><div>
</div><div>would he fall into the Demps/Rainey"speed-back" category?</div>

Very dangerous if he got out in space. But would get totally lit up every once in a while.

Probably not if they lined up on a track and raced, but I believe that Oregon's system utilizes James' speed better than UF's utilizes Demps'.

Especially when Oregon is running 4 plays a minute.

He is a good running back, but I don't think he would ever be a Heisman candidate if he played for any of the SEC teams. He is a fast and quick guy who can be a little physical, but he reminds me more of Ontario McCaleb than a real All SEC type back. I guess the real comparison would be Jahvid Best, good running back but I don't think he is quite as great as advertised and won't fare as well in the NFL as expected. Note that this is just my opinion and he may be better and prove me wrong, this is just my perception after watching him. I will give him credit though, he is pretty tough and loves the game.
