we like samsung better but it's a personal thing...65 is the way to go thoughIs this what I’m looking for?
Sony - 65" Class X950H Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV
I have Samsung as well..love them & have had excellent quality. I have the 65 .we like samsung better but it's a personal thing...65 is the way to go though
Ok, thanks. Would you get something else? I thought LED was the tits? The 950's are really good TV's. One of the best LED panels out there, only Sony's Z series would be better. The X-Wide feature gives them outstanding picture quality off center axis viewing.
Not overkill in my book at all. If I was going to get an LED set, it's the one I would get.
sony's sound is better but we like the picture of the samsung betterOk, thanks. Would you get something else? I thought LED was the tits?

I’m not worried about sound. I usually have my TV sound all the way down with the sound being routed through my surround system.sony's sound is better but we like the picture of the samsung better

Ok, cool. Thanks.OLED is a better picture, but there are a few potential risks associated with them. Similar to the "burn-in" issues that Plasma sets dealt with for years.
I’ve had a Samsung for the last 10 years, and it’s been great. I’ve long since stopped being a tech nerd, and have no idea what the hell to get on a TV these days. I don’t game anymore, so it’s just streaming fishing shows, TV shows, movies, and the occasional football or basketball game. Is that TV overkill?

Same with yours truly; I used to tear those friggin specs apart within an inch of their friggin' lives to get what I thought was the "best" for the money. Now, in a practical sense, all sets are pretty much the same to me.
I've become a Samsung guy, and have no serious motivation to change. Like most, I used to think of Sony as the gold standard, but never bought the brand because I was unwiliing to pay their premium. I notice that Costco......where I tend to buy consumer electronics of this type these days......has begun to carry the line, which I frankly find a little surprising. I can only assume they're a little more in line with ther competitors from a price standpoint for comparable features/specs.
The next time I buy a TV, I'll do what I've been doing and simply stick with the major brands......Samsung, LG, now Sony, Toshiba, etc.....avoid the budget brands.....identify a baseline of features between competitors......then differentiate based on price. I admit that I might pay slightly more for Sony......maybe something on the order of 5-10%.......but certainly no more than that.
I wasn't aware of that; have their competitors (like QLED) avoided/fixed that problem, or is burn-in (in the manner you describe) an issue with all similarly upgraded picture technologies ???
This is a decent video explaining the differences between OLED and QLED.
