1) How much do we play Dak against UT-Martin (or another team we build a lead on)? We likely do not need him to play very much, but he could also build up some stats for the Heisman race. I'd suggest that the Heisman race is secondary and will work itself out.

2) The national media is really starting to beat the Mullen to [insert open job] drum. The Sirius/XM college sports channel spent a good bit of time this morning discussing his possible move to either Michigan or Florida.

F the Heisman. Dak's not winning it purely on stats anyway.

There are plenty of other QBs out there with better stats. Hell, he got 'out-statted' Saturday by Towles.

Just win, baby. And part of that has to be keeping him healthy for Bama and OM.

The only way Dak wins the Heisman is if we win out, so let's play it that way.

And I would bet Dak answers the same way.

1) This will take care of itself. If Dak leads us to Atlanta, he'll be in the Heisman race whether he plays in the second half of UTM or not.

2) This is a MAJOR concern. I'm a lot less confident that Dan stays than most on this board. I'm even more concerned how this affects our recruiting. We've got a big class ready to sign this February but the sharks are circling using Mullen to Michigan and Mullen to Florida to try and sway our recruits. If we make the playoff, I think he'll stay because I don't think those schools want to wait until after the playoff to get a coach signed. But if we miss Atlanta and miss the playoff, I think the chance he leaves spikes.

Heisman stats aren't boosted in homecoming games. They are boosted in national coverage. 'Big game' play is what matters. Bama, OM, SECCG, these games will be where Dak wins the Heisman.

Prescott would probably play the first drive or so in the third quarter and we would give it to Williams. Prescott and Robinson BOTH would need to come out early. I would sit Robinson a little sooner than I would Prescott.

This makes me think of reading a really good book. If only I could skip to the last chapter and read ahead. What I would give for a 10 minute trip to next February. Check the sports history books and the stock market and come back. Everything would be so much less stressful.

Prescott's Heisman resume has very little to do with his actual stats. If we finish the season 11-1, he's probably going to win it. If we go 10-2 or worse, his odds drop significantly.

Id love to see Oregon drop another game.

They've got #18 Utah left to play, as well as unranked Stanford, which is unranked but is still a team that has given Oregon trouble in the past.
