Two more spots, correct?

Haven't really been following it, but I guess teams can have 15 next season, right? We have 13 if we don't lose any to portal or draft (Oweh). That leave 2 spots. If we use those, does a Perry, Noah, or Garrison leave for more PT/money? 15 is a lot of players to keep happy.

I'm convinced we win the natty next year if we get Folgueiras and any of the shooters we're still after.

Would leave us with one spot for a guy like Max Green or whomever (if we're hell-bent on getting the full 15).

November roster as I see it (assuming another shooter and Alvaro are both here)

Starters:
PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SF: Chandler
PF: Dioubate
C: Garrison (at least until JQ gets up to speed)

Backups:
PG: Lewis
SG: Johnson
SF: Transfer
PF: Alvaro
C: JQ

Reserve:
PG: Perry
SG:
SF: Noah
PF: Williams
C: Moreno

Williams being a reserve is just a side-effect of there being so much competition ahead of him, though I'd expect him to get plenty of minutes. I have a hard time seeing Chandler coming off the bench if he improves upon his performance at the end of last season, so I have to toss him in as a starter.

Most of our guys can play 3 different positions, so lists like these are more or less futile. Mine is an attempt to put who I feel will be the best players on the court at the same time. It'll evolve at the season progresses, players will get injured, and all that.

Still.

That's a wild roster.

We have 12. Might finish with 13. 15 isn’t happening. No one wants to come be the 14th and 15th player on the roster

Griffin would seem an odd choice if he's looking for shooting.
Griffen has played himself down to the bargain bin so to speak.
Pope may try to snag him on the cheap.
There's a ton of NIL money already dedicated to the 12 we have.
Idk how much is left in the tank.

Yates ain’t happening. It’s Pierre or Rylan griffin or maybe sellers
Not real thrilled about Griffin unless it was just the system at Kansas and Sellers is headed to Providence.

Wonder if they look at Alex Chaikin from Lafayette 6'5 170 Freshman 47.90% from 3 - 80 3fgm - 167 3fga

I just don't see Williams starting over either Oweh or Chandler – two guys who have a year in the system – this November. I also don't see Dioubate transferring to come off the bench.

Williams had a better freshman year than Chandler. Chandler could compete with him for starting minutes, but nod would go to Williams as of now (imo).

PG - Lowe
SG - Oweh
SF - Williams
PF - Dioubate
C - Garrison or Quaintance or Moreno

You think bourbon and horses make more than corporate lawyers and bankers. Ok.
Have you ever seen the Saudis land their giant planes filled with hundreds of millions of dollars of merch and horses at BG Airport and just nonchalantly pay the fine that would bury 99.5% of Americans?

Horses is munny.

Bourbon will take a hit with the tariff war though, so that one may be fair for the foreseeable future.

Your point is good, though. I'm just playing devil's advocate. It's not like we're bereft.

We'll see! They're both great defenders that can shoot extremely well.

Kam has 41% from three to hang his hat on and Chandler was better than 50% from three in our final seven games this season. Both athletic.

Will be fun to watch this one play out.

Chandler is good... but IMO a little smallish at the SF position during "crunch" time... shooting guard, point guard... sure... backup SF... sure....but as far as a rebounder/banger that can shoot...Hmmmm....

How many Saudi Oil men are UK fans tho? lol
Owning horses / donating money to UK NIL? I’m not seeing the connection.

The point isn't that the Saudis are paying into NIL – just that horses are an insanely lucrative business. Woodford and Fayette are the main counties in this state IIRC, but even some smaller farms in Jessamine, Scott, and around the state are worth 3-5 years of NIL.

I think we add one more wing and call it a day.

I figure we may have to go small a bit until Quaintance is ready to go. They are saying he will be ready for contact by September. But December or January sounds more realistic. For the first month or so, it’s probably Dioubate at the 4 and Garrison at the 5 with Moreno as the backup 5 and Williams and Noah backing up the 4.

Once JQ gets back in the swing of things, I think he starts at the 5 and Garrison starts at the 4 with Dioubate backing up the 4 and Moreno backing up the 5.

Lowe is the starter at PG. Lewis is his primary backup.

Oweh starts at one wing spot and whoever else we sign (Yates or Pierre or ?) starts at the other. Johnson, Chandler, and Williams fight for the backup minutes on the wing.

Perry sees mainly mop up time, and Noah will also once we get JQ going.
