I like a lot of what I see with Riley's offense (minus the occasional boneheaded calls like the Illinois game).

I feel like if we could field a competent defense we would have a winning record right now. I don't have confidence Banker is going to be that guy. Cosgrove part 2.

Banker has come out of his basic scheme a bit. That makes him a bit better than Cosgrove. And both are not as bad as the last d-coordinator when it comes to record-setting bad defensive performances on the regular.

Hard to evaluate banker at this point, given the limitations he is working with at D-end and safety.

I agree. His resume doesn't give me great confidence though.

Why we can't go out and find top coordinators/assistants like other programs is mind-numbing.

Our recent coaching failures have all had issues you could see before they were even hired.

Same thing I was thinking. We're seeing flexibility out of this staff. Previous staff's showed NONE of that willingness.

I am not going to argue with the concerns you have with Banker. Our defense has not looked very good all year but....

In his defense our secondary was in great position "All Game" against Mich St., and was making plays! I literally said that Cook was not going to look better than any other QB that torched us. Well in my opinion he did!

Some of the windows that guy fit the ball into was mind boggling. The way that dude was playing, I thought our chances to win down the stretch was 0.01%. Our Defense looked very good in most situations, though some could argue the pass rush was almost non existent. Cooks Jersey was still Downy Fresh at the end of the game!
