He played ok the other night- dont make it out to be more than it was..acting like he did something great late in the 4th Q blowout against Conf USA is a little ridiculous
.hopefully he continues to progress
but again, let's not make it out to be more than it was. We will throw it a little more next year with Russell as we slowly bring Prescott along each game- thats a given.TBonewannabe said:Russell just needs to be able to break off a 10 yard run when he needs to and be able to read the play correctly. Last year even against Memphis, he wouldn't have turned the corner and scored. Recruits are saying we are planning on being more of a throwing team than we are currently next year.
South Panola Dawg said:Truth. Russell played really well and looks like he's improved from the turnover machine of last season. However, there's no reason to get carried away. Memphis is easily the worst D-1 team on our schedule. The only team we'll play worse than them is UT Martin. Thursday night was a glorified scrimmage. We probably get better competition in our intra-squad scrimmages. Russell can run just enough to keep the D honest, but I highly doubt he'll be breaking a 26 yard run against a legitimate SEC defense.
