I got a big laugh when Allen pushed him off and got a foul. It happens every game. He drives other guards insane. I think this is gonna be the funnest year of them all.

Yes....I loved that ....and when on "D" he was out on the wing defending....knew that the pass was coming to the inside, he stepped in and stole it....and he got the ball out into transition..... He is something, I tell you!!

When Ulis signed with Kentucky there were those on the Michigan State site that said that Tyler would be recruited over every year and not play at Kentucky. DUH!

Only Murray is close. He had 8 assists the other night. Ulis picked the best game to play well (has underwhelmed so far until tonight), and he dominated the game. Ulis/Murray are by far the best guard combo in the nation. Briscoe ain't too shabby either!
tards have a different assessment of our guards:

*UK has won with two main things during the Calipari era. Dominant PG's and big men. I don't think they have either this year.
*Ullis also hasn't really proven to be that capable as a distributor. an assist rate of 18.6 against a 17.9 TO rate is hardly exciting. For comparison, Snider has an assist rate of 32.9 vs a TO rate of 6.5
*where we can exploit is at the guard position. if and its a big rupp arena if, they call the game evenly , then we can get their guards foul trouble or tired. Briscoe can shoot. but we have some heighth on the perimeter to cool him a little. we are closer than we ever have been.
thank god im a card fan.

Louisville fans might be the most stupid fans I have ever seen. That comment is so asinine it makes me want to throw up. They are beyond dumb and I can't wait to obliterate them this year.

Yeah UL is going to exploit UK's guards my arse. This guy is past delusional and really not accurate. Briscoe for one, is our worst perimeter shooter of our 3 guards, and good luck this year containing this group. I hope teams do try and match up. It will be very similar to the Duke game. A layup fest.

I was listening to the Tom Leach show yesterday and I loved this quote from Coach Kryzyzewski regarding Tyler Ulis "To make up for a small stature God gave him a big heart."

Remember the Tubby years? We would have killed for a guard like Tyler
Tubby years? We would still kill for a Tyler Ulis now. Ulis is one of the three best, if not THEE best, PG Cal has had at UK. If you had a Tyler Ulis every year you are automatically a title contender.

I agree that Tyler is the best pg that Cal has had here. Best pg since I have been watching and that goes back several decades.
We have had some that could dish but couldn't shoot, had some that could score but not see the court, some that had the ball on a string but couldn't finish or shoot. Ulis can do it all.
The only thin close to him is Murray as a freshmen he is pretty darn good as well. Couldn't imagine him as a soph. Lol

Tyler is looking like a top 20 pick and that's only because of his size otherwise he's a top 5 pick.

Yes, exactly. I hope the kid realizes his dream and has a long career in the NBA. But I sure wish that we could clone him and have a Tyler Ulis on the court every year.

Tyler has that "it" factor. He is going to be successful on and off the BB court. He is a true leader.

I started a thread to this effect a week or two ago. It got pretty intense from both sides.

The thing about Tyler is that besides the very respectable stats, he probably does more stuff that doesn't show up in the stat sheet than anyone I've seen. And I didn't by mean just calling the right plays or putting people in the right position. I mean knowing when and when not to pass, anticipating who's going to be where and when, when he gets in a scrum just sensing the best way out of it. Knowing when to pass vs when not to pass, etc. It's like a sixth sense.

All these intangibles to go along with his prodigious abilities make Ulis potentially an all time great UK pg. I didn't say the GOAT, but definitely an all time great.

This is by far the most dulisional post I have seen by a little brothel fan I have ever read. I am going to save this and re-post after the game in Rupp. My God, how moronic.

I'm wondering where they got the assist to turnover stat?

At any rate - let 'em have their dreams; it's ok. We all should dream big - because, for some, that's all they have.

OMG - is that guy seriously comparing Ulis' to Snider assist to turnover stats after two cupcake games?

I thought he was better than Tyus Jones last year. Best PG in that 2014 class IMO. Kris Dunn? Meh I don't agree.
I'd say that most likely will be Mudiay based on how he's looked so far.

Dunn is definitely the better pro prospect. We're only three games in, so early to say either way.
