Does that mean Ricky Bobby is getting demoted to sunday starter, or is he going back to the bullpen where he belongs?

I guess it just depends on how the weekend goes. Crosswhite looked like **** and so did Bowen so I guess we'll see.</p>

I say demote Crosswhite and Bowen to Tuesday and Wednesday, and put Forrest Moore on Sunday. Im sick of Bowen and Crosswhite. I cant wait till we get all of these young hotshot pitchers that weve signed recently that will come in the next few years. The quality of pitching in the last few years of Polks tenure and this year still with his guys has been awful. Cohen is really gonna change things around here.

against Valpo. Hopefully Bryce Drew isn't on the team to provide a game winning grand slam in the ninth inning. Of course it can't be a walk-off since we are the home team.

Cohen is going to continue to use the revolving door of players. He says that gives us our best chance to win, by playing matchups. I agree with about 50% of that. I think you need to have a good nucleus, at least 6-7 out of the 9, of your best players and let them produce over the long haul. But I am not a baseball coach, and maybe he's saying we don't have that many SEC players on the team. Thanks Polk.

At this point, I just don't see how you don't go with Freeman, the 2 Powers, Butler and Sneed all day every day. Duffy has to be the DH at this point. Let those lollypops in the outfield be the revolving door, Nappi, Adkins, Collins, Hogue, Brownlee. Get Deloach, Parks, Rawdow and Goforth out of the lineup for good.

Next year we may never hear from some of these bums again.

and trying to figure out what works with this group. His last 2 years at Kentucky, he had a core of 6-7 guys that got 200+ ABs. So he is just trying to do what he thinks is best to win games. He is going to play the matchups to gain an advantage b/c we don't exactly have the talent. But a guy like Conner Powers will play regardless of matchups so he is not opposed to finding 6-7 everyday guys. Cohen is doing the same thing Mullen wants to do with the football team.

But Im like you, I like to find a core that can play and play them. Our best teams have always had that.

and I fully expect to see a freshman-laden starting lineup next season that resembles the '95 squad. I think that team went 30-25 or similar. I was hoping for that this year and a little better next year. Don't know if it's realistic or not, we will find out in SEC play. But I expect to be able to compete with anybody next year. The recruiting class we have is stacked if we can fight off the draft.

My pipe dream is that we get Billy Hamilton to come to State.

next year.

I think Billy Hamilton is gone. The real coup would be getting Runny Davis to come to school. We need Thigpen to be an impact defensive catcher as well.

I saw where Gene posted that, but I don't think he even started at Texas. Is he playing somewhere now?

And yes I'm a sheep about the class. I fully expect Bright to be the next coming of Stephen Head.

It's good to have recruits that MLB actually wants for a change.

is the best option for us as well. Ina perfect world, yes, you would like to have ten guys that you can really count on, but right now, we only have Conner Powers and a less than 100% appearing Grant Hogue. The rest of the guys should be role players. We would be hurting ourselves more by saying "This is our lineup, and we're sticking with it no matter what" because the way we are going we need to play whoever is hot at the time to give us the best shot at winning.

he also is tied for the team lead in HBP's. i'll agree with parks, rawdow, and goforth, but not deloach.
