The 5-foot-11, 182-pound shooting guard started all 36 games, and was the driving force behind arguably the most successful season in Mean Green history. He took home Conference-USA Player of the Year honors after averaging a team-best 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while also shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 41.3 percent on three-point attempts, the latter of which was good for 18th in Division I.
He is not the tall guard KP covets, but he would be the very best candidate to help this team return to respectability
He seems like he can score but come on, one of the biggest issues last year was assists. Nobody is distributing the ball. 2.1 assists per game is very modest for a PG.
I think the next three spots aren’t going to blow us away with offensive stats but I bet all three are really good defenders.

North Texas was one of the top defensive teams Stat wise. Gotta believe Perry was a really good defender.

His assist numbers are pretty low but I watched him play in the NIT final four and he's a baller.. I'd take him right now but I doubt we get him.. Good to see we are at least trying though.
I may be wrong, but I am not sure KP a will pursue any short guards, not only for his belief that having tall athletic guards who can post down low; but be able to defend when playing a switching man-to-man defense. I think that philosophy has real value, and a 5’9” guard can become a liability when competing with so many of these opponents who emphasize height at all 5 positions .
