I can't blame them for that. If it gives C-USA a reason to hate them, more power to them, but it should really be Houston's fault for not even playing their best game when it matters most. But as far as that other school in Mississippi... they had their chance when they lost to UAB despite the fact they lost to Marshall earlier in the season.

The UAB loss loss in retrospect probably didn't cost them BCS. Undefeated is most likely the only way they get in.

If they had beaten UAB they would have gotten in. Because they would have ranked higher than TCU and WVU and would have been in the top 16, they would have gotten an automatic qualifying bid and would have been in the Sugar Bowl. So yea... that UAB loss cost them way more than they could imagine.
