That is a GD lie.

I cannot possibly fathom where they came up with that number.

I saw that in the Clarion Ledger and couldn't believe that UAB would have to audacity to announce such a number for a game that was on TV and obviously had no more than 5 or 6 thousand people in the stands. CUSA is HOT HOT HOT!

so, it's hard to believe there were over 5,000. There has to be some significance to this type of attendance when considering what classification this conference belongs in. I'm not taking a cheap shot at USM, but they're just in a ****** situation, and there's no cure for it...except maybe more cowbell...baby!!!!

I thought the NCAA had set some guide lines to stop that but I may be wrong. They need to. If we are going to announce attendance then it needs to be the same thing for everyone.

There's no way they sold 26,000 tickets for that game. Or all their games combined to date this season.

USM's beat writer estimated 6500 at the game last night.

The count is, UAB fans are going to complain that it's 5 to 20 thousand less than actual and that the under count is due to a conspiracy between the Birmingham Park Board and the UA Board of Trustees.

If UAB gives away 10,000 tickets to a homeless shelter, those tickets count in the attendance

So thus the official attendance is all tickets sold and/or distributed

Who benefits from UAB playing 1-A football? I don't get it. If they quit tomorrow, other than the players, coaches, and their families, would anybody notice?

And I was in attendance for the record setting crowd in 03 against USM. The only reason there were that many people at the game was because Ruben Studdard sang at half time. After he finished 70% of the crowd left.
