UCA about to get through this only using one pitcher - here's their situation

Gilmore has already gone 8 innings today, so he's out.

McClanahan went 5 2/3 Friday and threw 92 pitches. Doubt he could be available tonight.
Enrole threw 111 pitches yesterday over 6 innings. Probably not available tonight or Monday.
Biggerstaff threw five innings and 74 pitches. Doubt he is available tonight.
Clayton threw 26 pitches over 2 1/3 Friday night and was fairly effective. He's probably available.

So here are the pitchers that we could see tonight.

Pitchers with at least three starts that could start-
RHP Ethan McKinzie (3-2, 2.11 ERA, 21K in 42 IP)
RHP Clint Green (4-2, 3.25 ERA, 17K in 44 IP)
LHP Zach Barr (2-0, 3.38 ERA, 16K in 16 IP)

Nothing earth shattering available tonight, but Biggerstaff and McClanahan could be available in a Monday night game. We need to wrap this one up.

I hope we jump on them early. I hate playing these 17ers. They're such a pain in the ***. Just look at their ninth inning against USA: seeing eyes grounder that finds a hole, then a bunt where the runner was out but the ump blew the call; now all of a sudden, after two routine fly ball outs, they score two run. They just put so much pressure on you and seemingly create runs out of thin air... And Lindgren hasn't been able to handle pressure lately.

I'm not saying we lose, but I do wish Mercer had put them out yesterday. Central Arkansas is clearly the second best team in the regional.

Let's put this in perspective.

We are in the winners bracket side of a championship game playing at home vs the #4 seed. We have to win one of two.

They are in an elimination game playing the #1 seed on the road. They have to win two.

Even though their Freshmens pitcher looked like Cy Young in going the route today, they are still +1 in games played.

I choose our position over theirs.

Should we cluster <17> this into two losses, I will carry the torch of "We are MSU".

However, my gut and brain tell me unlike other sports, we hold serve and move on.

That being said, winning 2/3 in Charlottesville is a different matter.

A stat posted during their game showed they've won 7 elimination games in the last 8 days, including today's win.

I definitely feel good about our position, I'm more just annoyed that we have to play them again considering I feel like we match up better against every other team in the regional.
