About the only way the NCAA tournament committee can save face if UFC finishes undefeated again is create a play-in game / round or vote them in.
They don't play the hardest schedule, but it's not full of St. Mary of the Blind opponents either.
Oh, I am in NO WAY an authority on the subject. In fact "never listen to me", great advice.Their strength of schedule coming into this week was 118/ 129 teams. What other team currently ranked in the top 10 wouldn’t be undefeated playing that schedule?
They destroyed Pittsburgh whom Notre Dame only beat by five points. They also beat Auburn last year in a major bowl game. The same Auburn team that gave Alabama and Georgia their only losses prior to those two teams playing in the championship game. Just because a school plays in a weaker conference doesn't mean they cannot play competitively in a playoff/tournament if given the chance. Two years ago Gonzaga made it to the championship game in basketball, because they were given the chance.Their strength of schedule coming into this week was 118/ 129 teams. But you can’t say that cause you have to play the games. There are upsets every week. What other team currently ranked in the top 10 wouldn’t be undefeated playing that schedule?

That is true but if they played the same schedule as Bama, Clem, ND, Mich or Georgia are we even having this conversation? They have good skill positions but they would get dominated at the LOS.

You took the words out of my mouth. I am the first one who would root for the underdog (Small Program). I root for Boise State all the time because they can play with anyone on any given day, but same for them if they played the schedules you named above they wouldn’t even be in a discussion.
People need to understand the difference in playing 1 tough game Vs playing tough games every week.
Big difference!
Same can be said and applied to some of the High School Conferences,.....
So if Ohio State beats Michigan this weekend and Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC championship game then Central Florida should be in the playoff, right? This illustrates the difference in schedules.
