Tonight was a perfect example of why they have won. Give up only 1 run, score a run after a guy reaches base on a strikeout, and score 2 unearned runs after an error. Meanwhile, they don't make any mistakes in the field, and get a little luck. Hopefully, the luck will turn our way tomorrow.

They are an extremely well coached team. I hate losing to them but at least it wasn't because they pounded the ball and fielded well.

Top ten fielding team. Great pitching. ****** hitting. This equals low scores and for them a lot of wins damn it.

they didn't pound anything, they hit drop in baby liners over the infield. we pounded the ball, just were unfortunate what with the 30mph wind from centerfield, hitting it directly at their team and balls that shouldn't have been in the field of play not having enough umph to get over the fence. but no they didn't pound anything.

Choppers and bloopers are good enough...

if you mix in a stike out wild pitch and error to get two or three runs and that is all they need. Very few hard hit balls from UCLA.

This ballpark is perfect for the way UCLA plays, and a big reason why they're undefeated in Omaha. They don't have any power, and the hits they do get are little loopers over the infield or seeing eye singles. They only have 3 extra base hits all series and they are all doubles. So they string a few of those little hits together, move runners over and get a run or two. They pitch up in the zone, which leads to lots of fly balls, and in this park, a fly ball equals an out. Porter and Ammarati hammered balls that might have been homers or extra base hits in other parks but were both outs here. Meanwhile, they get their three runs on a guy who struck out but reached on a wild pitch and back to back hits, and then two unearned runs after a sac bunt attempt turned into a 2 base error.

Read my post again. Did not say they pounded the ball. Hell I even said they had ****** hitting.

Reading comprehension?

We hit a lot of balls right at them. Not the fly balls, but line drives that couldn't find gaps. I think we made enough contact. Just..that's baseball...especially when we walk one or two and have a couple errors.
