UCLA PG xfer Elina and Louisville xfer Harris starters. Reniya and Blanca are on min restrictions. Toomey healthy and confident. Nivar and Grant back. Brooks is 5-star FR
When Harris is able to hit that shot that will change this team.
She can hit it and she will eventually. She being left open CB wants her to take it.
UCLA leads 35-34 at half. Heels are here to play. Spurts of really good ball- 9-0 and 10-0 runs. They’re going to be really fun to watch this year.
They talked about Harris expanding to the perimeter ever since she committed, so not surprised but man those open looks have been ugly.
Blanca has looked solid in her minutes so far - big benefit to have that post presence.
We're Going to have some fun this year watching this team.

Toomey did about as well as anybody could do guarding Betts that first half
correct. There’s a better shot there. And 4 is a lot in 13 min.
We had a stretch of bad shots. On the other we've played 9 players and they have all scored a basket.
Will not face another player like Betts again this year. If our offense could match our defense, look out.

UNC has definitely dug down on Betts but rarely brought the full double team. UNC playing her straight up more than most teams. Agree that Toomey has done as well as could be expected. Pretty impressive. I thought she forced an up and down on one block, but i guess they thought the ball left Betts hands?
