I'm more optimistic that we can play well enough to win vs UCLA today than I was yesterday, that's for sure.
I like that it's a home game and that maybe our FG woes are behind us.

Even though we should win versus UCLA, I can’t help but think it wont be 3 pts one way or the other.
Our coaching staff really is just not that good. Good coaches figure this crap out by second half of year 2. Hope I’m wrong but when it comes to football, I’m usually right when it’s dealing with Nebraska.
I have pretty much decided that rule says all the right things and is awesome in that regard to the media and to the players. But I am pretty sure other than X’s and O’s which is where he came from on the defensive side where he is pretty good. He sucks at offense and special teams. He just can’t coach them worth a crap, like all the other coaches since solich, they cant figure out that the three phases of the game have to work together to be a 8 win team and above. I learned a long time ago logic never wins. Some people just don’t get it. Even if it’s $8 million.
That’s why the greats are great and the rest are who they are.

Rhule has never struck me as an Xs and Os kinda guy. Which is all the more reason he needs better assistants.
I figured the Ohio St game was going to be a loss at the beginning of the season so I didn’t tune in until the 4th Quarter. I think it may have helped the team and myself. I may try again next week. Would be nice to get that sixth win in the books because none of the final four games are going to be easy!
UCLA is B. A. D. And so far the traveling teams have faired horrendously.
Interestingly, I think ucla is also the only former PAC school that has failed to really establish an identity for who they are and how they want to compete in the new BIG. I think you win easily next week.
USC clearly wants to out score opponents - and their defensive secondary literally does not want to hit/tackle and seems to almost intentionally avoid contact. If you play physically against USC, that should be a win too. Physicality should overcome any travel hangover.

From a College football 25 coaching abilities point of view, Rhule is a motivator/recruiter to a degree.
He needs Xs and Os strategists to compliment him. I think White is too a degree, but he needs a strategist on the offensive side.

Nebraska should beat UCLA. But they have to play well to do so. UCLA has a bye and can tweak some things on offense. Can't let that be an excuse. Better win the individual battles.
I think they win, gain even more confidence by scoring in the high 20s or kow 30s. Take that confidence and win out. Feeling good at 9-3 headed to Florida for a bowl game. Beat TX A&M for the 10th win.

.The first half team against cu is what Nebraska has to get back to, they dominated what is turning out to be a decent team in the buffs. There was so much fire and get after it attitude, that's what kind of football Nebraska has to get to the next 4 games.
This would be a good day to get our first hard freeze to give those California boys some temperatures in the 20s to deal with

I think Saturday's game is worth 2.5-3 W's. If Nebraska can beat UCLA then they will finish the season on 8 wins. If they lose Saturday then it is a coin flip on 5/6 win season and I hope it does not come down to the Friday Iowa game to decide bowl eligibility. I think the bowlless streak weighs heavier on the entire program more than we would like to believe.
