sigh here we go with Matt Jones being the bane of the world.
Yes, because presenting the entirety of the story instead of a version that Matt Jones wants to share to throw shade on a fanbase/school because he like ALL of us would love to have their HC leave them--is just doing so because I want to **** on KSR.

Facts matter despite the fact many love to share "my truth". FOH with that BS.

You also realize it wasn't just Matt Jones commenting on the size of the crowd right? But sure once again it's Matt Jones's fault.

It would be when you consider there is literally NO advantage UConn has over Kentucky but location. I would also argue that the advantages Kentucky has over UConn isn’t even close
I think we’ve misunderstood each other. Personally I can come up with multiple reasons why Hurley would/should (it’s UK, almost only place in college that could be considered upward move, $, history, support, challenge, etc)…and why he wouldn’t (ain’t broke dont fix it, 3peat attempt, less pressure while fighting for blue blood status, location 😉)… But idk the mind of Hurley, his personal mitigating factors, and coaching hires (or denials) can be completely illogical superficially. Along with most chatter trending towards a “no”, but that could end up being completely wrong.

I agree with you that UK should be the desired place for a coach seeking the heights of college bball. Whet

Edit: got cutoff. “Whether Hurley ends up here or not, we have next to no idea.”

Hurley can coach, but he’s a very different cat
Completely agree with this. If we are going after a college coach, he is the play. He is undeniably the best and hottest right now. But his antics at times border on cray cray. If he comes to UK and doesn’t perform, those types of antics will be what this fanbase scream about. He’s like Cal on steroids on the sideline.

Almost like winning matters. And he cares about winning.

And when was the picture taken? Before the event started? In the middle of it? After it was over? Who knows?

It was him calling it their championship celebration when that is planned for Saturday. Go read what he wrote. If someone is writing inaccurate information, just calling that out is not hating someone. It's sharing the truth.

I hope Hurley can truly appreciate what it would be like to win a title here. No other place can compare. Goes way beyond just more money. Someone needs to send him this video:

Dude. I’m cryin watching that video. What a time.

I wanna like that again. I really miss it.

Kinda still pretty damn embarrassing that a couple thousand people showed up for their first appearance back from a back to back title run.. We have fans that will drive 12 hours plus the locals to just meet the airplane when it would land in Lexington..

Kentucky is a rare place, but it's not for everyone. (cheesy Cal pun quote not intended). The point is you can shape anything as you want. We've had people mocking a BBM attendance and then someone shows another pic where it fills in. My lone point was their planned/organized celebration is set for Saturday and for Jones to not mention that while being critical was what seems to be a very odd trend of half *** reporting involving KSR in a lot of ways. Experience it with the litany of recruiting falsehood stories but it's not as if this isn't the norm.

UK fans are really hungry to get back among the elite and it would be great to land a great championship winning coach. That being said, if they don't want the job, get onto someone who does want it and wants to bask in the environment that we know would take place.

Maybe they have something planned Saturday idk. But if there was a welcome back celebration after a title there is are people lining the road and ending up at rupp with a packed house. Uk fans would be celebrating for a month not on a Saturday. I get that it’s at the last second but at UK last second celebrations for titles brings the state. There is a sizable difference in the following of the two programs

More ESPN media hype. More ''new blood'' marketing BS. They say they're bigger than UK. But their title and title game were overshadowed by our job search. Still are. Their admin is sweating UK coming at Hurley with 11 plus million.
They couldn't even beat out the women's title game in viewership. We had an impromptu parade in 98 after the title game in Lexington that blew that little gym get together UConn had away. Anything UConn does with their fan support would be beaten by UK tenfold in the same circumstances. We probably have bigger crowds just waiting for the team at the airport and on their route home on the bus.

I was at the 2014 Final Four in Houston and I didn’t see a single UCONN fan.

I swear I was told the NCAA paid some locals to dress as fans to not embarrass the product.

I know how ridiculous this sounds but maybe someone can back me up on this?
I was there as well. There was some uCon fans in NE section. Not a whole lot mind you but there were most definitely some. I'll guess at 500 +/-. If in that area you couldn't miss em. They were obnoxious ********!

You all do realize they have a Championship Celebration Parade planned for SATURDAY. This was just impromptu event tonight. They announced their plans this morning for the Parade and it'll be in Hartford.

Matt Jones and the crew stirring it up---and that's great--as long as you report the entirety of the story.
Still think we get 4x that even if they announced it at 5pm lol.

Man seeing that again with Cal makes me sad. The man was two wins from immortality. Just a shame what might have been.
He played around with too many incomplete rosters from that point on. Missing on Wiggins for 2014; missing on Stanley Johnson for 2015; missing on virtually everyone for 2016; etc.

We always seemed to be one positional player away from a title from that point on.

Very much the norm for KSR. For the most part we have an intelligent fanbase, but somehow these boys got the wool pulled over a segment.

Posting that as their celebration, is just bad reporting. Call it their welcome home celebration and then note how many more people we would have at the airport for the same. Still gets the point across and isn't being deceptive.

Lol, you guys realize that was while people were still filing in right? In any event the posters that said this was an impromptu event while the team was driving back to campus are correct. Despite the fact that it was announced the same day fans lined up on the route from the airport to the school. The actual celebration will be this weekend.

The picture is from last year's parade. Crowds lineup in the street like this for the mile long route of the parade.

Well, I think it's nice when a program celebrates its losses. Good for you! ;)
That’s cute that you’re on a UK board after winning a title. Out of all the times Cal was rumored to go to another school, not once did I go to another school’s message board seeking validation.

Guess that’s the difference between living in the house at the top of the mountain vs a van down by the river; old money vs new money. Old money is confident in their place in the world; New money over flaunts and peacocks around trying to prove they belong at the country club
