They would get crushed by a 16 seed in the men's NCAA tournament. To suggest anything different is laughable. What they are doing is impressive from a dominance stand point. But overall, they are bad for women's basketball and hope of making the sport more popular.

How far would they go in the men's NCAA?

They'd probably win it fairly easily. Realistically, most NBA teams would struggle mightily to beat them.

Great coach, blue chip women's talent, successive rounds of team cohesiveness. Great young players sometimes have to play roles early and that makes them better all around players when they get older.

Fair enough. Where would they place in the B1G? ;)

I can't disagree more with the notion that their dominance is bad for the women's game. They make news because of their dominance. Fans of other teams may be frustrated because they can't beat them, but that is not UCONN's problem. I think ultimately, they will raise the level of women's play which will advance the game and increase fan interest. When you look back at UCLA dominating men's basketball, was that bad for the men's game?

I'm actually floored that they've been able to maintain this level of dominance as long as they have. There are simply more talented female athletes available these days and yet other teams simply can't get it done.

They can't even get close. In their 111 game win streak there have been only 3 games that weren't double digit wins.

Gino gets the girls he wants and makes women out of them. He doesn't take just anyone. He gets girls who fit his model. If you look at UCONN's gals, they all classy women first and foremost.

We hosted them here in Manhattan this past season. I was impressed with everything I saw. The guy is a great wbb coach, who gets whoever he wants, and they play their azzes off for him.

Reminds me of UCLA back in the day.

Of course you could say that about MBB and the NBA. It really doesn't make a point other than women and men are different animals, thankfully.

They get the best talent every year and there's only 2 or 3 teams every year that can even compete with them. The women's tournament is a complete joke; making these 4-16 seeds play is a disgrace. The tournament should be 4 teams every year. Uconn, ND, Baylor, Stanford.

Neither ND nor Baylor are in the Final 4. Mississippi State and FSU join the other two this go-around.

Well yeah it's not an exact science but you get what I mean. Has any team lower than a 3 seed ever made the title game?

Ugh. Dont even try to compare them to mens hoops. They wouldnt beat anyone in the field of 68 mens teams. That said, their dominance is the only thing that keeps me rmotely interested in womens college basketball. I hope they dont lose for another several years. Its great for the sport.

UConn is the only women's basketball team I'll watch. For one thing, they play like men. They seem in control of their bodies and movements. A lot of other women's teams play very erratically. They'll throw up shots that have no chance of going in or make stupid passes all the time or try to dribble through 3 defenders. I'm guessing that's what Gino looks for in recruits are women who play with good basketball control and are smart basketball players. And he probably emphasizes that through coaching as well.

I saw a news story/documentary on women's basketball program at Tennessee. Coach had her girls practice against guys that played high school hoops. Remember these guy's though probably very good high school players were at Tennessee as students.

That is they were not good enough to get a scholarship to a university let alone d1a school.

An elite HS program would whip UCONN. Sorry ladies.
