Yeah what is it with us always starting behind right out of the shoot. Can we not get pitchers throwing strikes to start a game? Maybe they need fewer warmup tosses!**
He's a great player. I just wish more of those hr's weren't solo shots.

Wait.. You are satisfied with being forced to use closer in a game with a 4 run.
8th inning lead?? A game you shouldn't have even had to make our closer take off his jacket? Geez, do you people know anything about baseball besides that its played on a diamond with a white ball?
Holder should have never even been in the game tonight. It's sad that other pitchers can't get the last 6 outs with a 4 run, eventually 5 run cushion (because of run scored in 8th).
This is the type of **** that CAN'T HAPPEN, if you even want to sniff Omaha. But all of you are just happy either way. Must have quality outings by pitchers other than your closer if you want to even make a regional.

My gosh you are an idiot. Holder was not forced to come into the game. We still had a 3 run lead when he did. That is Cohen's call completely. People complained for days about not trying to win last Friday. Now we play to win, and people still are going to complain? I'm happy with a victory yes. You are saying it is unacceptable for pitchers not not have quality outings before him? Pollo had a quality start and then you are complaining about Mitchell not being at his absolute best. Mitchell has been one of our most reliable guys this year. He has one so-so outing and you say its unacceptable? You sir are the one who doesn't know a thing about baseball. Holder will be perfectly fine to come into a game again this weekend. Maybe not tomorrow, but Sunday yes. Some of you amaze me with your constant critiquing of our baseball team like we are supposed to be the Yankees.

What are you talking about? If you seriously think no one on our team other than him could close it out then you just havent watched us this year. We have plenty of people in the pen that could have done that. But its important to go ahead and take the Friday game, so just go ahead and finish it. I'm still confused at why you are upset.

It's fairly Common knowledge that a closer going 2 innings will sit them out..

My 17ing point is...... We should have other pitchers on our team to finish out 6 outs with 4 run cushion, to save closer for a game he will be most beneficial to a win (1-2 run game in 8/9th inning).
How in the 17 do you people not understand what I'm saying? This is why I cannot stand this place during baseball season. 99% of people on here don't know **** about baseball strategy or the intricacies of the game.

He gave up 2 hits and unfortunately they were extra base hits. Up 3 with no outs and runner on 2nd, I don't blame Cohen at all for bringing in Holder. We need to win series and we are in great position to do that this weekend. And whether you think Florida is a **** team or not, they still have plenty of talent. No sense in taking the chance of losing this game, when Graveman has been as solid as he has.

You realize when Holder was brought in - it was a 3 run lead and Florida had already scored 1 run after 2 straight doubles with 0 outs.

Every pitcher is different. I highly doubt you know anything about Holder outside of what you see in games.
I know what you're saying, but if you have a closer that is capable of getting the job done, it's okay to use him on Friday if you think he can handle it.
I worked for a minor league team for ten years and saw how their coaches handled them; I know the guy that worked with Holder this summer, he was a coach I worked with one of those years and a pitching specialist. Not to mention the amount of baseball I've seen- not that we're on here to brag about that stuff. This thought that closers can only be pitched 3 innings a weekend is silly and generic; that may be true for one guy, but you can't paint picture by it.
You saying something like that says all I need to hear on baseball knowledge.
