Bertman loved doing this. Most schools need a nighttime start to accomodate the fanbase. LSU doesn't.

He always played his 1st round regional game in the afternoon. Pitching his #3 starter against the #4 seed is also classic Bertman strategy. Even if you do screw up and lose that game, you've still got a lot of pitchers left to get you through the losers bracket.
