"Run, Lindsey!", "We stomped their faces with a hobnail boot!", etc. However, he wasn't particularly good at telling the audience exactly what happened on a play. You could always tell if it was a good or bad result for Georgia, but you couldn't listen to a Munson call and envision what had transpired on a particular play the way you could with Jack. For every famous phrase Munson created, there were numerous calls that went something like this:
"They give it to him and we missed him, no, wait, we've got him now!" Huh? Might be fun to listen to ifyou've got the game on TV as well, but if you're relying on Larry to tell you what happened you can forget about it.
As far as being a homer, he clearly was, butin a very pessimistic way("There'sabsolutely no way we can win this game."). I don't like radio guys that tilt heavily to their team, but Larry's pessimism and the way he so obviously suffered when Georgia lost made it easier to put up with his bias.
He will certainly be missed.
