Now we know why we are playing in Mobile and Murpheesboro. I say lets just keep Tulane on the schedule, getting a trip to New Orleans every other year. Dallas and SMU, Houston with UH and Rice are other possibilities.

this is another reason to keep a home and home series with Memphis. I think they come back on in a few years maybe.

A permanent game in New Orleans with Tulane would be great. It was more like a home game for State anyway last time I attended. Great time in the dome. State on saturday, saints on sunday.

....for the next 10 years before they become a hot commodity. I don't get why anybody was against that.

Something about a SEC team visiting a SunBelt Conference team....I guess Conference USA isnt any better, but it is a little more established. Also, USA has not even fielded a team yet, I think that is another reason some, including myself, questioned the move. After it has settled, I think it is a good move and will get us a close away game that could easily turn into a "home" game, and more importantly, get a W.

....I'm just glad to play a metropolitan team instead of one in the middle of nowhere, i.e. La. Tech. We are going to be visiting Sun Belt teams from now on.

I have always said have a permanent road game in New Orleans.
Me too. I've been saying that for years. Just makes sense. Good recruiting trip, easy road trip, and lots of fun every time.

Why would Tulane want more money from us? You would think with a home and home agreement no money is exchanged. Surely, we are not paying Tulane or anyone else to play us home and home.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with playing Sunbelt teams as long as the venue/city is a good deal for our fans. MTSU ain't bad but would have been nicer in Titan's Stadium. I guess that cuts into MTSU's bottom line though. I know Ark State played Ok State a few years in Little Rock for a home game in a home and home series. Supposedly, ASU needed alot of OK State fans to show to help with average attendance per NCAA rules.

for the one time pay game. The Sunbelt commish told the league to not accept less than 1 million for a pay game anymore. If Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Maryland, Minnesota, Vandy, etc. are now forced to go to SB schools, we are going to end up there as well.

The only real problem with the MSU-MTSU series is that it really could have been a 2 for 1 deal instead of the straight up home and home. All the above schools got 2 for 1 deals with SB schools except Vandy and MSU. The fact LT gave La Tech and Middle those series plus he offered Central Michigan a straight up home and home gives smaller non-BCS incentive to ask for and expect the same from us in the future. Just another way LT made life for Byrne more difficult.
