UGA WR out for the season on this play...did the DB twist his leg intentionally?

Torn ACL. Watch it and you decide.

The play occurs at the 1:33:25 mark.

The DB has already been suspended once this season by the SEC.

Suspend him for the year for that garbage. Hell ya it was intentional. Ask Sean Tuohy if he plays like a "thug"

He tackled the guy by his feet. I didn't really see anything dirty, because they both went rolling to the ground and the defender was just holding on to his feet because that's where he tackled him.

You didnt see him continue to twist upward when he went to get up after the tackle was made?

Elston bends Browns leg backwards as Brown gets up. He held onto Browns leg and thrust his shoulder into the back of his knee. THat is garbage.

I agree that there was some action on his way up

but it didn't really look malicious to me, or even like he was trying to twist the guys foot to hurt the WR. It also didn't cause the injury as far as I can tell, as the ACL most likely tore during the tangled fall the 2 of them took. Plenty of defenders tackle the ball carrier and push themselves up off of the tackled player on the way to their feet again. To me this is similar.

Just what I saw. Feel free to disagree, but I think ya'll are just seeing what you want to based upon who was involved in the play.

I would like to hear from the Mississippi trolls (Homer Simpson, Victory (yea right) Red etc) on this cheap shot. You guys have been oh so eager to comment on everything else. I want to hear what you guys think and what the oh so Christian Bucky might say.

I'll be interested to see if the UGA db talks about this and when the ACL tore occurred. He'll know if the tear occurred pre or post twist.

If you think this is bad, don't watch our guys. Whitley commonly slings a guys leg after he makes a tackle. It's more common than people think. Just not a big deal until someone gets hurt.

If a guy gets injured it likely occurred during the tackle and not in anything that happened after the play was over.

I would assume that if it happened post tackle, then both the UGA WR and UGA coach would be making some noise about it. Hell, there would probably have been more noise about it immediately after because I imagine the WR would be sitting there screaming "Mother 17ing ******* twisted my damn knee and it popped after we were on the ground!"

ETA: if it were one of our guys that got hurt and it was because of some post tackle/play ********, then I'd hope our guys would be raising questions/concerns and making waves over it so that type of thing gets cracked down on.

In real-time I thought Elston hurt him somewhat purposefully. Honestly did, and I expected to see that confirmed when watching this replay.

However, watching that replay several times you can see that the twisting injury occurs right as and right after Brown comes down (picture provided) and Elston is laying on his back and tackling momentum is pulling him back over his head. Brown even starts to wretch forward and reach before Elston even flips completely over and lays on him.

I'm sure Elston holding on through the tackle is actually what caused it, but I don't think his post-tackle actions did anything, simply because Brown was reaching for his leg before Elston was even laying on him. And if a dirty play by Elston caused it, I'm sure you'd have heard something from Richt already.

The tackle was clean. But the twist after the play was over was dirty as hell.

In that picture alone there are 9 UGA people standing there watching and I'm sure the Ref is close and Richt is probably not too far away. Not one thing was said by anyone concerning extra activity. Elston is aggressive but not dirty. On the play he was suspended for, he wasn't even flagged. The SEC handed that down the following week. But ya'll already knew that.
