It's good that he was right about something. Anthony Dixon is making him look like a retard right now. Is there anyone that said we wouldn't have a damn good offense? I think that has been a universal thought amongst State fans since last season ended.

and we have people bitching because every throw wasn't exactly 100% on the money. Just goes to show that we're never satisified.

But yes, MSU/Auburn on paper should be a shootout. I just hope that our defense can stop them enough and that Auburn's defense has as many problems as advertised, and that the emotion from the crowd carries our team over the top. Still worried about the kickoff unit, though.

It'll be a good game for sure.

but outside of Alcorn, he'll never see WR's that wide open again. He stared down WR's and the WR's bailed him out a few times on throws. He also fumbled the 1st time he got hit inside our own 10 yd line.

He did look really good once when he stepped up and rolled right once and threw a strike on a sideline pass. He has talent, just needs maturity and experience. I'm just not convinced Auburn is the team to do that on. We'll see how Mullen does it in 3 more days

That is 100% ********. Here is another thread discussing the same thing about staring down WR's. I know it makes your argument better to lie about this, but he wasn't staring down receivers.

By bailing him out do you mean they caught the ball? If that's the case Relf is bailed out 50% of the time because that is about the percentage of time the ball is anywhere near the intended target. We had a freshman QB have a perfect first game, regardless of the opponent and you want to nitpick every thing he did and there isn't much to nitpick about. He won't have that kind of game against Auburn because the competition level is 100 times better, we all know that, no need for you to say it 10 times a day everyday. As far as the 30 points a game thing, without Russell we would have scored about 28 maybe and we wouldn't be anywhere near that average. I haven't seen it mentioned here, but we couldn't run the ball worth a damn against Memphis with Relf in the game because he is one dimensional. I hope that doesn't happen against Auburn, because they will key on him and make us look stupid if we can't throw it. This isn't going to be the egg bowl again, this game is a bigger test for Relf than it is for anyone else. He is also going to have to make sure not to throw it into the chest of Auburn players.

I dont care what the other thread said. Look at where his facemask points once he sets up- his head is not moving- he is staring his WR down. There was no looking off the safety on Bumphis 1st TD, it was play-action and he faked, set-up, and threw the ball. He didnt look off ****. He played well against an immensely inferior opponent. That's a great start and a step in the right direction- but what we play Thursday is a totally different deal. Nobody wants to mention the fact he fumbled the first time he got hit because we recovered it, but don't think that wasn't noticed by the coaching staff.

Relf? He threw a very bad INT. no doubt. That's going to happen some with him. He also came back to throw some very good passes. The pass he completed on 3rd and 21 to Green was a very good throw. He is vastly improved, but will still make some mistakes.

You serious Clark? Ballard's 51 yard run was with Relf in the game. Relf was 7-9, 116 yards and a TD....how the f@ck is that one-dimensional? Your and Idiot

Ok...he fumbled a ball. Ok... Relf still looks better at QB than Russell does because he has played in more than one game. OK... Russell doesn't look of receivers like an upper class man QB would and his receivers bailed him out a few times. But just for the record C34, when was the last time we had a redshirt freshman QB put up those numbers and throw 4 touchdown passes against anyone AND actually have more than one WR that could bail out our QB?

I know it was Memphis and I know it goes again your grain and I know you are being baited here but really... can't you for once just say they both looked very good which not only bodes well for the team but also points out the fact that Mullen really does know how to develop QBs?

As much as I was happy with Russell's performance I was even more impressed with Relf's demeanor in the game and the overall play of our WRs not only catching the ball but finding space to get open.

there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Russell, Relf, our WR's, and the offense as a whole. Plenty of reasons. This is probably the best offense we have ever had in our school's history. The numbers will show that at the end of the season. But things are never as great as they seem, nor are they as bad...

Thursday will answer alot of questions that we have

What is your review on Relf? First pass is a pick.He played against the same team as Russell.

their DE's are under-sized and while that is great for pass rushing- it can hurt when we pound on them for 4 quarters with biggers guys.
