Uh oh! The media hated Trump's speech yesterday, guess who loved it?

Forgotten man....that sums up the bs

You think rust belt workers out of work is BS? Do you think a U6 unemployment rate of 9.6% is BS? Do you think black males ages 16 - 19 with an unemployment rate of 32% is BS? Hispanic males of the same age with an unemployment rate of 20% is BS? Do you think the terrible education in most inner cities is BS? I thought liberals were supposed to have empathy? Yes, these people have been forgotten and taken for granted.

BTW, Bernie essentially ran on this same platform of the forgotten man. His policies were much, much different but he went after the same problem.

Not sure what "figure the embodies the "forgotten man" are very different as well" means. If you're implying that a billionaire from NYC is a flawed messenger, I think you are underestimating his desire to return jobs to America, improve education, improve inner cities, improve infrastructure, improve trade deals and protect American wages.

I'm skeptical of his education initiatives, not just the policy but the desired result. I think a pool of cheap labor will be needed. I think he does want to help the American middle class, but I think his policies will hurt more than help in the long run.

But I meant that President Trump's "forgotten man" in the middle class former factory worker in the rust belt. I think Sanders' "forgotten man" is of more lower class status.

Irregardless, the phrase "forgotten man" coming from a millionaire that sea tax law to circumvent his tax responsibilities and makes horrible degrading comments about women....is unfortunate.

So, if JFK made similar remarks about civil rights or forgotten people as he did during his campaign in WV, and given his actual treatment of women and interns, not to mention he was very, very wealthy, you would apply the same logic to him". I don't think so.

And, to be frank, you have no idea how real estate businesses are run. Losses are routine and can be "carried forward." Huge upfront investments of capital are required including huge leverage. GE some years ago, paid zero federal income tax. It was all legal due to our tax code. Businesses are allowed to use depreciation, even accelerated depreciation and to carry forward losses to reduce or eliminate current taxable income. Trump is being audited. We will soon know the results.

It is not very tolerant or liberal of you to claim that a rich man can't possibly understand the middle class or poor people. LBJ was very wealthy, for example.

IMO...LBJ was a bad President. Kennedy was as well, until the Cuban middle crisis forced a change in his attitudes towards communism and global politics. And Kennedy was also addressing those left behind by the middle class expansion under Eisenhower. But yes, a Kennedy speaking about the poor is just as awkward. But...Kennedy saved lives in the war, served in the house and senate. Trump has done a lot for the forgotten man over the years from that golden tower has he?

And Kennedy's perceived weakness by Khrushchev and fecklessness over the Bay of Pigs directly lead to Khrushchev's attempt to put nuclear missiles in Cuba, which nearly lead to a nuclear war. Peace through strength has served us very, very well.

And, btw, would you think FDR had empathy for the common man? He was extremely wealth. And FDR had several affairs.

You're showing some signs of a lack of liberalism. You are making judgements about people based on their class or background. Each person should be judged individually, not based on where they come from, how they were raised, size of their pocketbook, right?

FDR learned a lot while at warm springs. Class doesn't determine attitudes, but it does prevent empathy in many regards. I'm looking at someone's track record. President Trump's is not exactly solid in regards to connecting with and helping the "common" man.

Affairs are NOT the issue. The attitude by men throughout history of disrespect towards women in regards to sexual aggressiveness. I wouldn't care if Trump had affairs (even with prostitutes). It the "I don't care, treat them like objects" attitude that is the problem. He's made some pretty bad comments through the years.

Kennedy's mistakes during the Bay of Pigs were a result of inexperience as well as poor intelligence. Kennedy wanted to take us down a much different path....I'm sure we differ on what the results could have been

How do you know this about Trump? I guarantee you he came into more contact with the average man though all of his construction businesses than FDR ever did. I know he hired many more than did FDR.

Do jobs help the common man? Trump created tens of thousands. Does charitable giving help the common man, by all accounts Trump is very generous. And with respect to "assault" you seemed to have no problems with JFK, RFK, Teddy Kennedy, and Billy Clinton. These guys all went beyond comments to actual assaults including a charge of rape.

Have you heard LBJ tapes with regard to women? I suspect you haven't.

Lastly, Kennedy's Bay of Pigs fiasco helped to lead Khrushchev to believe Kennedy to be weak and he moved the missiles into Cuba, nearly starting a global conflagration. To be honest, your defense is very weak. If you point fingers at Trump (and he deserves a lot of criticism, remember to be fair in pointing fingers at members of your own party that did far worse).
