Mitch is showing why he is a great AD and thinking outside the box again. This will bring in more fans and show Stoops and the players love.

Just another way our football program is moving to the next level.

Well... I don't wanna be the guy that steals your joy....
Be happy......
What do you mean by that? Do you have an issue with packing the house?

If we can use all the resources to help average people get tickets I'm all for that. Mitch and UK are taking a financial hit by not selling these at a higher price so average people can get them. I'm all for that.

They're not selling them because average people didn't buy them... But you can believe what you will... I'm not a Barnhart fan this is true ... And if they pack the house I'm all for it....

Not a bad post, gotta do what you gotta do when you have a losing record. But I would be a lot more impressed if he got the COA raised a couple of thousand like most of our competition so we don't have a losing record-------of course we will never be able to match their "fringe" benefits------nor would I want to.

But I liked your posts a lot better when you signed them 67,000 strong, like in 07.

No financial hit is being taken. If they could sell the tickets for a higher price, they would do it. UK Athletics could give a damn about the average person. Every move they make is about maximizing revenue. Sometimes the moves work sometimes they don't, but that is their only objective.

A financial hit by not selling them higher? Well if they sold them higher, then there would be a lot less butts in the seats that's fordamnsure. In fact. Doing this will sell more tickets therefor maximizing there profit. They're not taking a cut by doing this, they're filling more seats which equals more money. The product has to meet the demand. And the product is nowhere near good enough to be selling tickets for really high prices. If the product was good. Then you bet your *** the stadium would be full and they would charge more. But that's the thing. The product isn't good, so they can't charge top dollar.

I like the idea, alot actually. And I also don't fault season ticket holders for being upset. They do have the option to switch to this, but of course they lose their K fund spot and will most likely be in the nosebleed 5 of the 7 games.

Exactly. Assuming dorkmeister went to college, he must have been sleeping through Econ 101 when the professor was talking about supply and demand. Of course the UK Athletic Department wants to maximize revenue, so they would rather accept a lower price to sell available tickets than keep the price high and have them remain unsold. This same principle explains why UK can and does charge for home games against UL, UF, UT, etc. than they would against New Mexico St and Austin Peay. Furthermore, more tickets sold means more concessions and souvenir revenue.

I also agree with CB3UK - I certainly wouldn't fault season ticket holders if they get a little bit of a chapped a$$ over this.

For the love of God, would someone please ban this fool?
@JRowland why don't you take 10 minutes to review dorkmeister's history? He's clearly a UL troll.

I know several folks, including myself, who aren't re-subscribing because this board allows obvious trolls to continue unabated.

He's been doing it for about 10 years. The mods obviously don't pick up on the sarcastic and subtle nature of his trolling. It's so easy to see what he's trying to do. He wants his fellow UL fans to see his posts, and make fun of an "alleged UK fan" on the UL messageboards. I wonder what his username is on the UL Scout board. He's a really disturbed, obsessed, creepy dude.

I know it makes me not want to give this site any money, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Obviously, desperate times require desperate measures. But, I don't know why anyone would buy the unknown seat option versus buying tickets in the parking lot. Even when UK was going to bowl games under Papa Brooks, there were always lower level tickets available in the parking lot for face or lower. Its just a fact of Kentucky football. Maybe its all those tickets UK gives away, I don't know.

I call BS on this post. When Brooks was here we sold out season tickets. Sure you could find a single ticket for a couple games a year but not a row of 4 and not every game.

You can call BS all you want. I agree you won't likely find four tickets together (although it happens). But there are always - ALWAYS - tickets available outside of Commonwealth. I speak from experience. I suspect you do not.

By the way, you gave your limited knowledge of scalping away when you mentioned single tickets. Its far far easier to buy two together than single tickets. Most scalpers won't split up tickets for obvious reasons. And they are available for EVERY game. Trust me.

My guess is their research showed that younger fans didn't renew or aren't as interested in buying season tix. This is an easily delivered and redeemed ticket option. I didn't renew my tickets this year after having them for 11 years, and I'm glad I didn't. Selling them at this price is kind of slap in the face to those season tickets holders who have been loyal to an underachieving program for many years.

I bought 2 sets @ 10:30 - so that means that the designated small allotment of 500 still had availability at that time....FWIW
