The coming season is when the corner is fully turned. Mark it down. New OC and better talent with experience brings in a while new culture that provides the winning confidence that's been lacking for decades. It's on!

Nothing like a little Blue baiting to start the year. yes this team will be improved . However the corner is a very wide one. I think the year will end with a win over L'ville. It will be interesting to see how they look just before the season starts. Your team loses more talent than ours. Happy New Year.

I believe it. Talent is up, experience is up, recruiting still in the rise, and upgrade in coaching staff. This is it. I'm stoked.

I'm a UK fan. In fact, I am likely one of the biggest and avid blue fans on these boards. I started my posting on the UL board cause some of things being stated were way out there and I couldn't stomach the idea that UL thinks they're 2 levels above UK when it's their scheduling that's the difference.

Mark it down. UK goes bowling next year and a win against UL at home is imminent.

You are way over the top. You need to go back to your board and build up your own teams deflated ego. Georgia stuck a fork into that world class defense.

I'm a UK fan. I predicted a Georgia domination due to the rushing attack and UL inflated D numbers to their soft schedule. That wasn't a difficult prediction. Geez. UL D held ACC rushing to a 90 yard per game average. But Georgia throttled it and exposed the Tards.

Back to the point. The coming season will be a legit turn-of-the-corner for UK. It's all there now.

We will NEVER have a better chance to beat Florida than we will this year. We play them at home, they're breaking in a new coach, brought in a mediocre OC after they've been Muschamp'ed for four years and only have one OL who has ever started a game.

well until you prove otherwise, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I agree that this year is the year we start seeing all the hard work of the team and staff start to pay off. 8 games in Commonwealth where we play better will only help this team get some necessary wins that have escaped them the past couple of years.

Fix the oline and shore up the run defense and this is a winning team. Schedule is more manageable next year and some teams like UL and Miss State lose a lot.

No.

Any giant jump in success next year will be purely luck.

We have a ton of recruiting momentum, our Stoops guys are getting older and coming off redshirts, and the depth is getting better. But...

Our depth is still a huge issue. Our talent is still not up to par in the SEC although it is gaining ground. The big talents will still be baby-faced. Our Offensive Line still has a lot to prove.

We will be much more talented next year, but the talent will be young and their performance will likely be sporadic. I think we go bowling, but I don't think we make the jump that you propose. I'd love to be wrong, but I can't see it.

I think we steadily improve year-to-year.

That's the wrong attitude regarding Florida. I don't want to beat Florida on a year that their down. We beat USC and look at how we feel about that win now. Players are changing their culture. And we as fans need to do the same. Don't think for a moment those UK players don't know what's being said by their own fans because they do.

We got this. Proof is coming.

We have a long way to go - we barely made it through last season and lack the depth and experience to hang with the big boys just yet. We really just need time, provided there is consistent improvement year to year and our recruiting must stay strong.

Next year I expect 6 wins with a possible 7th win coming in a minor bowl game.

I expect at least 8 wins and improvement in all statistical categories. With the most improvements coming on both sides of the ball on 3rd down conversions. Along with a much better special teams. No more horrendous starts either.

The right attitude is that we want to beat them every year no matter what kind of team they have. We can't control how good they are lets just start making this series go in the other direction. 2015 in a new CWS is the right time!

Good grief! A Card fan sees what UK fans are afraid to look for.... He's right... This is not a baiting post and if you guys didn't have a losing mentality you would see that..... This is the year that Kentucky does turn the corner... I am as patient as anyone, but this year we should turn the corner and go to a Bowl game somewhere.... I want the UK fans that are scared to go hide under the bed until they're able to jump on the band wagon next year.... I can here it now, "I will gladly eat crow"... You might do that, but you would help UK more if you weren't so negative to begin with.....

Sept. 5 -- LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE

Sept. 26 -- MISSOURI

Oct. 3 -- EASTERN KENTUCKY

Oct. 10 -- OPEN

Oct. 15 (Thursday) -- AUBURN

Oct. 24 -- at Mississippi State

Oct. 31 -- TENNESSEE

Nov. 7 -- at Georgia

Nov. 14 -- at Vanderbilt

Nov. 21 -- UNC CHARLOTTE

Nov. 28 -- LOUISVILLE

Honestly, looking at the schedule, I am finding it mighty difficult to
see anything more than another 5 win season, and that is if we beat UL.
That is a just a tough, tough schedule. I don't see us beating South
Carolina again in Columbia. Mississippi State will be a home game for
them. Florida may indeed have a new staff and they may indeed be down
from where they once were at, but they are still Florida. Every year we
as fans circle that game as one we can potentially win. But we somehow
manage to keep losing to them. And they no longer have that bumbling
idiot Muschamp running their program. Missouri is another example of a
team that on paper looks beatable. Yet when it comes time to play them,
they kick our teeth in. The Tennessee game might be within reach, but
even that one has to go into the "doubtful" column. We sure as hell
aren't beating Auburn or Georgia.

I'd like to be more optimistic,
but I just can't look at that schedule and see where the additional wins are
realistically going to come from. There is an outside chance we could
get to 6-6, but I think even that will be tough to achieve. This is a
damn tough league to win in. It is doubly so when you are trying to
build a winner from the ground up. Considering our lack of depth and
considering where we are at in the trenches, I think it may take a
couple more very good recruiting classes to get us to the point where we
are even in a favorable position to win 7 games. The problem with that
is, if we don't start getting some winning seasons, these good
recruiting classes are going to dry up. Trying to build a winning SEC
football program isn't for the feint of heart, especially when you have a
history like we do.

Even Vanderbilt might be tough, especially on the road. If I remember correctly, they will have new coordinators on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

If you think our defense struggled this year!!! Hang on tight because next year will be a bumpy ride.

OP, you can change the website listed under your name if you are actually a UK fan. Click on your name at the top left, then click "member services". After that you may have to enter your pass word and click "message board options". Its right above the place you will have to enter your password. On that screen you can look under the "user profile" section and change your homesite.

Why would the defense regress with us only losing two of our big defensive players, and gaining a good interior linebacker player? I understand losing Bud and Za'Darius will hurt a big, but we don't know what our new DE's will give us yet. I think expecting Stoops' defense to be bad in year 3 is a bit of a stretch.

I noticed the Cardinal in his background right away, but I have seen several of his posts and they all seem legit. Probably should start over with new info in the background though.

That's probably right. But garbage put on the Louisville board was borderline heretic. I just felt the need to start there before coming home here. I know on paper it appears that UL is much more separated and ahead of UK, but if you've played college level and you understand the game, then you know there's not much difference between the two programs TODAY.

But where their fans have us is, they think they can win against the elite even if they haven't beaten a top 25 team all season. That's an area that UL has because of their second rate schedule that provides wins.

UK has it all coming together now. It's time for our fans to BUY IN fully. This crap about Vandy being tough at their place is an example of the way our fans need to change our own culture.

It's time. I attended one game this year. Next year 2 or 3. I'm gonna do my part as long UK coaches and players and admin shows they want to make that jump to the next level. Right now, they're showing it.

Really looking forward to seeing Denzil Ware, Stoops is excited about him.

I'll believe it when I see it. Cautiously optimistic. The last half of our season, and getting blown out on several of the games leaves me little reason to think we've turned a corner. I think we can get to 6 wins which is an improvement , but I'm skeptical beyond that

Hope I am wrong.

Um , no- quite the opposite in fact considering I was banned for 3 days awhile ago. But keep slinging mud. If you show ANY criticism then you're labeld as a UL fan or troll. Get outta here with that noise and go kick rocks. I have hundreds of posts on RR and the main boards defending and talking UK basketball. Go check out the main basketball board. I'm guessing you won't. You just like to hurl insults without backing any of it up. After being a football fan for 30 years , I am a bit jaded.

NOTHING I have said on this board is bashing the team or UK. What are some of the things I've said that are so bad? I'm guessing you can't name any, you just bash people who are a bit more realistic. People who think we still have a LONG way to go. Grow up dude. People will have different opinions , and some FANS might not be happy go lucky all the time. My criticisms of UK football are based on results and facts.

Take a break BRO, you have no idea what you are talking about and whining like a little girl about message board posters screams desperate.

The only thing for certain regarding the schedule for next season is by the 4th game of the year we will know where we stand in the SEC East

This post was edited on 1/3 6:37 PM by 1_Cool_CAT
And it probably won't be that pretty, I will probably be happy with one SEC win at that point. But I think we have a very good chance of finishing the season on a three game winning streak

Props to ~Keyser Sore~ for bringing this back out of the archives. I'm glad I'm not on record on this thread predicting an SEC Championship, but on other threads I sincerely thought 7-5 or even 8-4 was doable. Shame on me for drinking the Kool Aid.
