I'll disagree on the speed part. This UK team is much faster and looks like they 'belong' on the field with the Floridas of the world. Strength training is definitely an issue but yes, our players are indeed faster. KendallCat is on a mission to discredit everything that Korem has done at UK, not sure if he slept with your wife or what, but the grudge you have against the man is pretty petty. There are actually other components to S&C than just weightlifting. Just because a guy is not a good fit for managing the S&C of an athletic team doesn't mean his work is without merit. Some people are just not leaders or managers.
If he was as bad as you say he would have been let go by UK. Big difference between not renewing his contract and firing a guy. Tells me they have seen some benefit to his programs but his leadership style doesn't fit and he perhaps puts too much importance on speed vs strength or whatever.
Pretty broad strokes there and maybe you should read my earlier posts in this thread which refute your above paragraph - maybe you missed the part about his knowledge and success I cited in regards to speed training, recovery, sensory deprivation methods which are excellent and I stated as such. I have no grudge against hm and have no reason for a judge, but what I do have is enough knowledge of how a S&C program works or does not work, access to some of the best trainers in the world through my past training experiences, and have seen and listened to Korem speak about this matter.
Does he know his stuff in certain aspects of an S&C program? Yes he does and I have pointed those out previously. He learned a rugby training protocol (Catapult) that he brought over to the states, and a few college teams like Oregon, FSU, and NC State use it along with the Bills, Knicks, Rockets, and a bunch of soccer and rugby clubs. It involves a lot of data and monitoring of athletes and energy systems. Not widespread in terms of usage ,and the system has some merits but the jury is still out in regards to teams using it with success.
My issues with the past few years is we were paying a guy $250k to develop our S&C program and football players, and he chose to use our team as lab rats for his PhD and studies and get his PhD paid for instead of developing an SEC level S&C program. Our team regressed in regards to strength and it was visible on the field that we were not strong enough despite paying him a ton of money to do a job. Players under Corey developed much better than those that trained with Korem - why do you think one was not renewed who designed the building and future program and the other is running the program still. People talk about Bud and Z training for the combine and results, but don't realize who was really working them out.
There is info not for public consumption that some on this board also know, and I will just say that in due time you will see info come out as to why these changes were made which will make sense. Nothing against him personally and he will be fine going forward - will write some books and probably have some role in a training facility in some capacity. Just don't agree with people constantly boasting about their "system", taking credit for things they did not do, and how they are a pioneer in the field without the results to back it up. If he was that good we would be better as a team physically, he would not be getting replaced by a person below him on the staff, and as far as why he is still here that will also possibly come out after the school year. People in S&C circles don't take too well to people that boast about what they do since doing one's job is reward enough - unless your motives lie elsewhere.
