This is the year we strike. UK wins 8!
Me too!! We've seen glimpses. Never sustained though.I've been ready for 38 years!
That's over. Gran was a huge hire. He's got SEC type cajones as an OC. I played the game at D1 level, and this is the best foundation I've ever seen at UK football.Yes! Just enough of a glimpse to let us know it's possible...making failure and poor administrative decisions sting even more.
So am I. Even if it's against our own so called fans. Let's do this! Our secondary actually can hit with a pop. If our LB's can fight off SEC cattle arses and plug the holes we will be much better on D.I'm ready for some smash mouth football!!
Love the way you thinkThis is the year we strike. UK wins 8!
lets win the 8 this season then get to sustaining itEven if they do win 8 can they sustain it? Brooks had seasons winning 8. Mumme, Curci, Caliborne, Morriss, and even Curry has had seasons that would be considered good by UK standards. The problem is they typically follow it up with real stinker seasons. Its like they take one step forward and then two steps back.
I would love to see us take down UF UL and UT and win a bowl game but if we did all of that I don't see how we could only win 7!7 wins...time to take down UF, UL and UT...then win a bowl game [banana]
A whole lot of history says they won't but I really like the way this thing is setting up. Stoops just has to get 6 or 7 this year and next year should be a very good year. With the recruiting classes he has been bringing in each year, there is absolutely no reason to backslide over the next 3 or 4 years. From 2017 to 2020, we should be a middle tier SEC program. IF Stoops can take moderate success and use it as a springboard to boost his recruiting up another notch then we could be looking at something special starting in about 2022. For this to happen, we have to hold on to Stoops and we have to avoid major meltdown or negative event.Even if they do win 8 can they sustain it? Brooks had seasons winning 8. I agree. Gran and Hinshaw are home runs and Thomas did a great job with UL's young WR's last year. I am not as sure about the new defensive coaches but Gran is perfect for what Stoops wants to do.That's over. Gran was a huge hire. He's got SEC type cajones as an OC. Amen brother - agree and my excitement level is growing! I think our boys are ready to shock some teams this year!!This is the year we strike. UK wins 8!

All good to hear. That's over. Gran was a huge hire. He's got SEC type cajones as an OC. I played the game at D1 level, and this is the best foundation I've ever seen at UK football.
While sustaining wouldn't be easy, I think UK there is tougher. I mean if Stoops can recruit as he ahs with nothing but vision, I'd think it would get easier. Eight is within reach this year imo, but will be happy with 7 & OK with 6. Five gets tough.Even if they do win 8 can they sustain it? Brooks had seasons winning 8.
Played in mid 80's. Wanted to play for UK. But life's twists didn't allow that to happen. Recruited by Glazer during the Claibourne era. That's where I'll leave it.Who'd ya play for and in what years?
Nothing wrong with this statement. At least they are heading toward that proverbial corner.Have to get to the corner first. Still a block or two down the road.
If UL are top 10-15 as some are touting, why wouldn't UK improving to seven wins with a loss AT UL still be turning the corner?Jay Reim...we got this. Be wary this season. Part of turning the corner is defeating UL. Post that on your board.
True. But you gotta defeat your rivals. I know I know. SEC has our attention. But believe it. The players want this game. It's a huge mojo lift and it takes to a shot of 8 wins.If UL are top 10-15 as some are touting, why wouldn't UK improving to seven wins with a loss AT UL still be turning the corner?
I said WE WILL. Not that we have. And we will do it this season. Naysayers can be so predictable. And I'm not saying you are a naysayer. More like a realist. We look foolish predicting that the football team has turned the corner in June. Lets play some games first before we starting patting each other on the back.
True. And I will remind everyone it is not really a corner to be turned but rather a large, sweeping bend in the road that requires some time to fully transit. [winking]Have to get to the corner first. Still a block or two down the road.
