UK getting no respect this morning

To beat the #1 team by double digits with them having the preseason POY... it should warrant some attention, exhibition or not.
And further, I dont think that happens by accident. A game that comes down to the last few possessions? Whatever. But Kentucky handled them, with a largely new roster. And with 2 of our best players out.
The bigger thing for me isnt Purdue.. its how good could Mark Pope be?

My wife will not go on vacation, I can’t get her to go but she loves watching amusement park YouTube videos. I’ve seen that and it is very cool.
Truth man, how good can we be when Lowe runs the show and JQ enters the lineup on defense if he is healthy at all.
I think the thing that jumped out to me was usually you figure a roster with a bunch of new guys would take some time to gel..........for a preseason game in late October, we looked awfuly good and played well together.

Given that we were without our starting PG, and lottery pick big, and given who the opponent was, and they will full-strength, I think it's silly to say it means nothing. Doesn't mean we should shoot up to #1 in the rankings, or every pundit should pick us to win it all. Doesn't mean we should be talking 40-0 (obviously). But, yeah, it does mean something. Pope is a damn good coach, and he has a very talented squad with no discernible weak spots. Should be a good year.

But they collapse immediately in regular season before playing against us
Win over Purdue is exciting ,but we still need to work hard day by day. We still have many things that can be improved to get #9. We need to face different types of opponents, offensive team, defensive team, athletic team, to know what we need to work hard on. But I have faith in our team more.
And Jasper has been good in pro day, blue white game and Purdue game, maybe he progress a lot already. And is already that good.

To be fair that game said something about Kansas as well as they turned out to not be anywhere near as good as their preseason ranking.
And Arkansas was headed for the E8 until Cal and them peed themselves against Texas Tech.

Let's hope we zero coverage and are disrespected. It will help motivate us and not having our kids ready all the hype and believing the press clippings about how good we are.
They used to have those "secret scrimmages" where top teams would play each other. Maybe they went this route because they saw they could make money (it's always about money).

Nobody is saying it's more than an exhibition in regard to record. What we're saying, and we're right in saying, is that this was not the typical exhibition and UK fans are right to be excited about this team based on what we've seen, especially on the defensive end. I think you're flat wrong on your view here, and if you're waiting for me to agree with you, you'll be waiting a while.
As for the national media giving UK props, I disagree with you there also. They begrudgingly give UK props when it is undeniable. Otherwise, not much. You don't even sound to me like a UK fan. Maybe one of those UL fans who also roots for the other state schools.

Laugh it up bub. What i said is true. Clearly the national media, which just moved UK up to #2, agrees with me. Yes, it was just an exhibition and won't count at the end of the season. There are no rules, just common sense. UK fans, like genuine fans of any team, watch their team and get excited about certain players, the offense, the defense, and so on. They get on a message board, like this one, and they talk about being excited. Then there are posers on that same site who enjoy throwing cold water on those genuine fans. Real fans who may disagree just laugh and say "yeah, those are typical fans. Getting excited about the team." They just laugh and let the others have their fun. But you can't allow it. It's just an exhibition and you can't even make an observation or any kind of evaluation. There it is.
