Let that sink in for a moment..........

Both WKU and Louisville are better than we are.

Why? IMO, it's more coaching than anything. While I'm disgusted with Stoops and his staff at the moment, they have done a great job of bringing in high caliber players. The problem is, they can't coach them.

Give our roster to Bobby Petrino or Jeff Brohm and we'd be looking at a 7-8 win season. I think when Stoops wins 4-5 games next year we need to take a good look at Brohm. He can be our version of Howard Schnellenberger. Plus Brohm runs the type of offense that UK fans like and he actually had success in doing it.

I'm still hoping for the best but I can't ignore my eyes and what little football knowledge I've gained in my 34 years on this planet.

UK is the 3rd best college football program in the state of Kentucky.

PS: thank you EKU for blowing a two score lead in the 4th quarter a against us

Western would smoke us this year. In fact, the very first game Stoops coached was against Western, and we in fact got smoked. Unfortunately, first impressions are not always inaccurate. Should have seen the warning signs then and there. Just unbelievable.

I'm not sure we're top 3 in State.

But.....Let's look beyond our borders. I don't really believe that UK could handle the teams remaining in the FCS Playoffs right now.....even with the 85-63 scholarship advantage, better facilities, SEC association, etc. North Dakota St would run us by three or four TDs. JMU, JSU, UT Chat, Richmond, Portland, McNeese would all beat UK if we played next week IMO. Citadel (just beat SoCar) and their triple option offense would give us fits

We needed a miracle to barely beat FCS EKU at home AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE FCS PLAYOFFS AND THEIR HC WAS FIRED. Let THAT sink in.

To add insult to injury, in some ways UK may have helped provide a platform for these programs to surpass us. Providing lesser in-state programs the opportunity to knock off an SEC team (I know, I know; we're "SEC" about like I'm "Michael Jordan" if I go shoot some hoops) helps provide valuable exposure and momentum to those programs. At the time of the game, I felt as though Taggert's WKU victory over Phillips really announced their arrival as a solid mid-major. By the time we played them in Nashville with Stoops, I honestly expected to lose...to a Sun Belt team. I don't even have to address Louisville - we all know that despite not being a great (or even good) team this year, they're better than us and probably will be for the foreseeable future with our trajectory. That last victory is looking further and further away. We got absolutely destroyed over the course of 30 minutes yesterday. They didn't just demolish our team, that comeback and the way it unfolded demolished absolutely any and all off-season momentum.

Brohm would have listened to us at one time. That time has passed. HE grew up red and he will die red. Given other opportunities to coach he will choose them over us. We needed to give him his first head coaching gig like we did Stoops in order to get him on board. We didnt. The ship has sailed. He will be coaching at a job thats likely a step up from us.
