Hang on UK. It'll be more of the same until the NCAA starts sniffing, and then he'll be gone like a fart in the wind.

UK survived 10 years of Tubby Smith. They can survive anything.

Isn't that a bit disengenous?

Tubby probably finishes with more national championships @ ky than Calipari right?
Granted, I think that was in the late 90s.

APR is way overrated. We may wind up taking an APR hit for signing Sidney before it's over with. If he ever plays for us and is even half as good as advertised,it wouldbe well worth losing a scholarship for.

It was also with Rick Pitino's players playing Rick Pitino's style and it followed a NC in '96 and an OT loss in the NC title game in '97. <div>
</div><div>After that, Tubby thought it would be a good idea to change things to fit his style - which is why he is now coaching at Minnesota.</div>

This year they threw their last scholarship to a walk-on. Even if you lose 3 scholarships, if the other 10 are all headed to the NBA, you'll win a lot of games. <div>
</div><div>Problem for Cal is, at some point when they haven't gotten over the FF hump and when the local papers are screaming about graduation rates and other issues caused by the one-and-dones, he'll get pressure to change his approach. Best I can tell, he doesn't deal with outside criticism very well.</div>

Having most of the team playing with us for only one season would be an emotional adjustment for me. Their class is extradordinary, so maybe it's only a one season deal at this extent, but year in and year out, I'd just switch to supporting proteams or give up the **** completely.

I remember during our Final Four year Georgia Tech had Stephon Marbury. It was great until they lost in the round of 8 or 16. Of course, I think we had Donatae Jones for that one season only, too. Without him, I've got to admit that we don't play in MSG.

I've also got to admit that I hope they all leave. However, my bet is that at least half of them stay for another season, including one of the starters.

I think that was the last time the Final Four was held in a non-dome type stadium. The limited capacity made tickets near impossible. That and the fact that Kentucky was there.

because there's nothing wrong with his system. He's a great coach.

They'll take a hit, but one year when they aren't able to sign some McDonald All American they'll just "Self Impose" a scholarship lose for that year to make up for it.

Think about this: the APR is designed to track how close your athletes are to graduation. So lets say we have a 4.0 athlete who is half way done with a degree in criminal justice. If he switches his major to pre-med, suddenly he is only 25% towards graduation. They're APR is going to take a hit.

The NCAA knows that. They know one and done players are going to happen. They don't really care..

So, you'd bet that out of Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Orton, and Hood,at least three of them will be on the team next year?

I'd take that bet all day.

you know, the guy he insisted MSU didn't want nor need. The guy that helped take Tennessee to the Elite 8 while we watched on CBS. Yeah we didn't need him.

Yeah, Blue's been on a roll in the past year or so.

But I think he was right on this one. I haven't seen much from Hopson in two years that makes me wish we had him. He's not a great defender, not a great shooter (33%) from three, an atrocious FT shooter (<60%), and a turnover machine (124, to 46 assists this year). Add in that he does not seem to be a big game player, and you have an average guy with an elevated opinion of himself. As for him helping them to the Elite Eight, his contributions were not that great. In four NCAA games he scored 38 points, 17 of those against Ohio U. He was even worse in Nashville, scoring only 17 points in three games. He had more turnovers than rebounds in the NCAAs, and you might have seen him miss a FT that could have potentially put Tennessee in the Final Four.

Dear Scotty,

Thank you for jilting us.

Are you talking about the same Scotty Hopson who had a chance to give UT the lead with 10 tics to go and clanked a free throw? The same Scotty Hopson that looked like he had seen a ghost when he stepped to the line? And the same Scotty Hopson who can't guard his shawdow? <div>
</div><div>He had one decent game - against Ohio.</div><div>
</div><div>Otherwise he averaged 7 and 3 and shot .333 from the field.</div><div>
</div><div>He sucks.</div>

Also adding to the scarcity of tickets was that a local team (Syracuse) was in the Final Four. I was there. Quite an experience. I hate basketball in a football stadium but unfortunately that adds revenue nowadays.

he just happened to be on Tennessee's first Elite 8 team. I don't think it's by coincidence.

I know its hard for some of you because you all are part of the dumbest fan base in America. But as I said, after he decided his style would be better than the one that was in place when he took over, he never got back.

If you would pay better attention to what I post and not focus so much on how many times I've kicked your balls in, you would get something right every now and then. <div>

So did Stephen Pearl. And somehow despite those two getting significant minutes they STILL got to the Elite 8. <div>
</div><div>A lot of it had to do with Stephen's Dad. I told you people he was going to do a good job at UT, not many of you listened. As a matter of fact, Estelle said he would never win there.</div><div>
