UK vs Eastern Illinois game thread

They have two 6’7 guys. MoD is also 6’7 so only our 5 spot is bigger. No need to exaggerate here. Sure the competition is less than stellar but they aren’t that small.
Only 14 teams have a worse offensive rating than Eastern Illinois on KenPom. We better hold them to under 50

Mo D getting punked against UL then doing the “too short” on some pissant team is pretty lame. You’re at Kentucky now, Eastern Illinois isn’t SUPPOSED to be able to guard you.
Been a terrible leader so far this season quite honestly. Idk the reason but nobody should mention Stokes having a bad attitude again.

my point was more less it seems we currently have players with terrible attitudes and energy.
So many just ignore OO turf toe injury. Claim he is pouting etc. Guy is no where close to 100%
Solid half. Hard to judge as EIL is terrible. Oweh still looks off for some reason, hoping he can find a spark soon.
I'm okay with it against this team as long as we're learning how to focus and be aggressive. Progress in those areas so far.
Some missed assignments and open shots, but I feel like defense is coming along at least a bit.
I'm not so sure it's an injury. His expressions have seemed sort of sulky so far.
I feel like Pope is asking us to tune up the pressure with more traps but still going weak on them. I think if you’re gonna trap, really commit to aggressively trap. We got burned on those junk plays against the Cards. Not that any of it matters against this JV team

Agree with this. Saw him do it and rolled my eyes.
Defense can look a bit skewed to the bad side when you play a team that is much smaller than you as guys are chasing people who are much faster than folks they are used to guarding. It’s not very often our 5’s are gonna be trying to guard guys 5 inches shorter and much quicker than them. That can make everything look a bit off on the defensive end.
If he’s not 100% why not rest him. He hurt us against Louisville. Like he was really really bad. Am I exaggerating? He was terrible against Georgetown.

I’m all for understanding that you can’t full on press and trap like it’s 1995 these days, it I don’t understand why we don’t trap more when teams pick up their dribble near the sidelines. With the size and athletes we have, we could force some real issues with that alone
I hate to say it but I’m finding several of our players a bit obnoxious this season. Play basketball. Talk trash if you are beating a top 10 team. Until then? Shut up. We don’t have a single player on the team who, as yet, has earned the right to talk trash.
Exactly. I’m honestly not being a bad fan or finding something to complain about. He looks terrible energy looks terrible and he’s playing like he regrets not going in the second round.

He is playing through it. Turf toe is no joke.he is likely in a lot of pain. It becomes a pain tolerance issue.
I am not OO or Pope so as for sitting out that is up to them. Probably be best so fans would lay off him. But then some would whine he is making X amount of money and sitting. No win situation for him.
