Hjelle gives up 2 out double, but strikes out the next batter 0-0 bottom of 2nd. Good to have Neil Price on the simulcast today !
Hjelle not sharp at all today, 53 pitches in the 3rd already, and only 1 out with 2 on. He does get out of the inning without giving up a run. Good job battling !

Ugh, 3 up and 3 down, and the UGA pitcher throws a grand total of 7 pitches. He will only have thrown 39 pitches when we come up in the 4th.

Cats tie it up at 1-1, rbi single to right by Evan White. Good inning for UK, got the UGA pitcher to throw several pitches.
Real grinder today. Neither team can get much going. Haven't seen UK struggle offensively like this too often this season.
Just a miserable offensive day. Seems like our hitters with no patience today.

Wow. Heady has been playing great D lately, but he likely lost this game for us today. Brutal error on a play that would have won the ball game.
And now the horrible D is contagious. Pompey drops a routine fly ball that scores two. Total implosion, looks like the press clippings are getting to them and this team may not be ready for primetime. Waste a good day by Hjelle, and now Salow is done for the weekend.
Add in that Salow is adding to his pitches. Uk likely to lose. NO Pop over the next two days

I think we still host but a national seed is in trouble if we lose this series. Just a horrible loss today by UK, no good excuse for it.

I've been cringing with some of the talk about UK being a lock to be a national seed with UGA and UT coming to town. Under Henderson, UK had a penchant for blowing late season series when it had a chance to get into the tournament or host. UK appears to have totally blown this one, and will have to win the last two to take a series we were hoping the 'Cats would sweep. Very frustrating.
How bad was the Heady error. Price made it sound like he just didn't come up with it on a diving attempt.

Rain had picked up... no dive on the play looked like he over ran a routine ball and slipped a little. It was a point blank miss.
However, the Pompey error was worse than his with the next batter that platted two. I mean he was camped underneath it.

It was awful. And it wasn't diving, it was routine. It's raining, so that's the only thing I can come up with as an excuse.
