I'm all for freedom of speech but when you represent a school like that those privelages are revoked. Ask the Texas football player that made the racial gun comment after Obama was elected he's probably serving frys now

Just not very smart on her part. Some people have no inner voice and it gets them in trouble.

Their head basketball coach banged a shank at a table in an Italian restaurant and got a raise. Then bought underage hookers for underage recruits and the AD is going to fight punishments for him.

This ***** tweets nonsense and is about to be expelled.

Excellent priorities, Lewisville Community College. Go love yourself.

Almost verbatim what I commented on the Yahoo article about this suspension.

The problem is and this is just the facts, some can say anything they want and nothing is said while others get shut down. It's a shame that this is what it's come to. Used to be, and it was wasn't because you couldn't, it was because you wouldn't disrespect like they do on social media today. I'm afraid the word respect is lost in today's society.

"I said English motherfu*(#@, do you speak it?"
I couldn't tell if that was the mother tongue in those tweets. They must have had someone translate them.

At least she isn't running around looting stores and burning buildings while carrying a hanging trump doll on a stick like the rest of the liberal loons.Threatening to secede from the union like Californians that consist of mostly Illegal Immigrants that have no right to vote anyway.Already pouting and writing slanderous stories like the liberal mainstream media before the man has even took over office.
Trump won the election and all the bit#$%^& and moaning in the world isn't going to change that.

This hit the nail on the head, you get in more trouble for a tweet because you hurt someones feelings 2000 miles away, than you do burning down a business or blocking a freeway.

It's a very fine line I think. When you represent a university in a prominent role like an athlete, cheerleader, even band members, etc. - you are in a different position than a typical stupid. Actions and words can have consequences as it relates to that position. (I definitely appreciate that they didn't do anything to Pitino, even with morality clauses in contract). I've definitely heard of athletes, cheerleaders, and band kids being suspended (from position, not school) due to actions and words. I don't think that is an infringement at all - they have certain standards as representatives in their roles.

Now, trying so suspend her from school would be a whole other issue. Unless it violates specific code with regards to harassing or threatening another student or staff, then free speech is pretty broad. Plus, it would be difficult to enforce such things with 23,000+ students.
