UL ends their season the way they started it...playing the "or" game with QBs

Amazing that after 12 games they still have no clue who is their best option. Didnt they decide back in October to just give the ball to the true frosh & let him learn? Oh then back to Bolin, and let him roll the rest of the season since he moves the O better.

Whoever they start we should blitz them from the second they set foot off the bus, they are among the nations worst at sacks/protecting the QB. Both teams are gonna score points, we might as well throw the kitchen sink at their awful O line every snap and sacrifice giving up big plays to get our own big plays (sacks/fumbles/scoop-scores/ints) in return.

I can almost guarantee that Petrino will find the best option before halftime come Saturday and our D will assist them in their 2016 Heisman campaign prep.

My expectation is that Lamar Jackson will start. I am certain that our coaches have noticed that your defense has had trouble defending dual threat QB's.

If Lamar does well, then he will play the whole game, and Bonnafon will come in when we need a QB to take snaps under center. If Lamar struggles, you will see Bolin as the "relief QB" at some time in the second half.

I am not throwing stones. If you ranked all four QB's (Towles, Barker, Jackson and Bolin) we might have number three and number 4. It could be that UL has two QB's better than UK.

Not sure how to even rank the four, and truth be told, it probably could change dramatically based on matchups. But one could argue that UL has the two best QB's on Saturday. We have the better running backs and run blocking.

Given how we've struggled with dual-threat QBs I would imagine Jackson would start. However, given how well Bolin played against us last year I wouldn't be too surprised to see him out there.

Bolin is their best passing option to go along with a good set of recievers. The problem is that their pass protection sucks and their running game is weak. Jackson gives them a real rushing threat and can run for his life when protection breaks down.

He knows who is starting. This is all just a ploy. If one struggles, he will get the hook and the other will play. Don't know that our D can stop either.

Wasn't/isn't Bonnafon considered a "dual-threat" QB? He looked like **** against us last year. So there's that, I guess.

To me..>Bonnafon is the least likely weapon to hurt UK. So I hope they play him a ton.

With Parker gone and Westry shadowing the boundary cornerback...I'd argue Bolin isn't as effective as he was vs. UK last year.

Which brings us to Lamar...he's got great feet and enough of an arm to get into UK. UK's front line has been abysmal vs. pass rush lately.

But if UL's running game goes to pot, I could see UK going to the gameplan they did vs. Mizzou and go 2 DL (Cory Johnson/Huggenin) and 2 OLB on the edges (Hatcher/Ware) to contain Lamar and make UL 1 dimensional. But if UK goes conventional (Elam, CJ, Huggenin) then I think it will be a long night for UK's defense.

If UK is smart, they will use every advantage they can. Louisville's weakest area is in their offensive line. Wake, BC and Pitt all gambled that their blitzes would addle the young QB's along with getting some sacks. Inasmuch as UofL leads the world in giving up sacks, the strategy becomes almost a no brainer.

UofL finally adapted by bringing in 7 to block against all-out blitzes.

The QB argument is over two fellows who are statistical identical twins. The argument is useless on our sites and does nothing more than provide scapegoats for frustrated fans. But to be fair to each of them, Aaron Rogers would have trouble getting passes off when teams may as well have lined up 3 yards deep into our backfield, lol. Once this year - to typify things - the MLB for BC, I think it was, tackled both our running back and the quarterback at the same time. It would be humorous if it did not happen to us, lol.

Yeah, our D looked terrible against Vandy, couldn't stop them from inside the five, let them score on the grade school trick play (outlawed in high school, and college also as far as that goes). and on an interception they returned for a TD.

And yeah, Charlotte scored 10 against us, but I didn't think that was bad considering how many kickoffs they got.

I would love to see us play as well on D against Transfer U as we have our last two games.

Petrino lists them as OR because he has no more an idea who is going to start than we do; it's a moment of candor. I suspect they will all play unless Jackson gets hot early. No two games have seemingly gone the same with UofL offensively this year and the problem with Jackson is that he has as much trouble going under center as Steve Sax had throwing to first base. Due to that and the schizophrenic nature of our center forgetting snap counts at least twice a game it bleeds into the running game. When Jackson is on the field he IS the running game; when Bolin is in the game Radcliff tends to get the ball at a depth where he can hit creases a little better.

Bolin looked like Aaron Rodgers against us last year.

Devante Parker helps out quite a bit when the QB is just slinging it into the air for grabs. And we also dropped a pick that was thrown like a punt on their winning drive. Not worried about any of them. Worried about our offense if anything.

Strictly for the sake of clarity...what is the bar for best game for UK this year? Auburn in a loss or at South Carolina in a win?

I'm not so sure where that bar is for Louisville...probably in Raleigh against NC State would be my best guess.

We will have to play our best game of the season to beat UL

Are you saying this assuming UofL plays really well?? If so, then maybe you're right, but it won't take more than the effort vs. USC, Mizz or Auburn to beat a UofL team capable of playing ok to not so great (just like we are). We don't have to be Alabama to beat these guys. Come on.

C'mon Jauk, are you really going to use the two worse offensive units we have played all season as the measuring stick of our defense. Vandy would have trouble moving the ball and scoring against the band and Charlotte, well their Charlotte.
