Can anyone tell me what kind of shape they are in as far as arms. They have to beat us twice so who do they have left?

Well, they've basically had two midweek games since Friday, so I'm guessing they're in pretty good shape.

Don't know. I do know that we need about an hour delay here so they have to use

another one.

They used...

Robichaux for eight innings in game one, and then finished with Plitt.
They threw Baranik for six plus in game two, and again finished with Plitt.
They've got Boutte (8-0 in 14 starts, 2.75 ERA) saved for us, plus their best 3 relievers, all who look statistically good, if not great.

I'm sure whoever they use against us will look pretty good. Our offense isn't going to scare any pitcher.

I.E., they are in great shape. They will be hurting in the 2nd game (if they get us in the first) but so will we. And their bats are much greater than ours.

If there's a second championship game, we'll have Laster to start. That's a lot better than whatever they will have.

They've now used Hicks as well, too. He's arguably their best reliever, although Wilson is right here with him. They've got 3 fresh, high quality pitchers left to throw at us.

Surprising they used a pitcher with an ERA under 2.00 for 5 innings in a game they were already leading 8-1 against one of the worst teams in the tournament.

Update

Traditional Starters
Robichaux (3.01 era) - 8 innings Friday
Baranik (3.30 era)- 6-1/3 innings Saturday
Boutte (2.75 era) - 6-1/3 innings Sunday

Relievers
Hicks (1.62 era) - 5 innings Sunday vs JSU
Wilson (1.69 era) - 0 innings, likely starter tonight, 5 starts, 7 saves in 53-1/3 innings
Bazar (2.32 era) - 0 innings, flame throwing freshman, 6 saves in 31 innings
Plitt (4.12 era) - 1 inning Friday, 2-2/3 innings Saturday, 4 saves in 48 innings

I think we should expect to see Wilson and Bazar today. Not sure who'd they go to after that. Plitt and Carter I guess.

I suspect everyone but Boutte is on call tonight. If they are smelling a super and need an inning, I would be shocked if Robichaux or Hicks aren't out there.

Bazar has given up 22 free passes and 25 hits in 31 innings. He may throw 100, but it hardly seems harnessed

Hicks threw 81 pitches yesterday against JSU - I'd be very suprised if we see him.

And why in the world he threw that much in relief with a huge lead against a terrible offensive team... I have no idea. You'd think they'd have enough confidence in someone else to close that one out. But I agree anyone other than Boutte and Hicks will be ready to go if needed - just like us.

The projected starter Wilson......

Can anyone tell me what kind of shape they are in as far as arms. They have to beat us twice so who do they have left?

Has appeared in about 25 games with 50+ innings pitched so he doesn't go for very long. Looking briefly at the schedule looks like he has been used twice in the last couple of weeks and went one third and two thirds of an inning total. Looks like his last start was back in mid April against UT arlington and his longest outing of the year was 5.2 innings. I'd say their goal for him tonight is 5 innings and gotta have at least 3 out of him.

I personally think this game might be decided very early. If laster can keep the coonies off balance until the 4th we have an excellent chance to win. If they chase him before then we are in huge trouble.
