Our guards in particular look really bad right now. Cunningham’s season is in a nose dive.
Again. These recruits are mediocre at level best. Yet, despite that, they’ll play in the tournament and probably win 19 games. That’s amazing given their talent.
I get the sentiment, OP, but Cards were never even close to being in a position to choke away this game. Never had a chance.
I agree. This one was somewhat predictable. We caught Cuse coming off a bad performance to NC State.

This in my opinion is the first real clunker of the season. These kind of games happen to everyone.
We CHOKED in our preparation (coaches), mental approach to the game (players). Pitiful preparation, execution and effort. Nwora should have been shown the bench at the 15:00 min mark. Guy gave half effort all night. Bench his ***, let him think about it!

I agree, I know CC hit some big shots vs Clemson but there's no doubt his limitations are catching up with him. Hopefully he'll find a re-boot and finish out strong.
These guards are for sure below avg in the ACC - not trying to knock them they are just limited.
Man, I would love nothing more than for this to happen. Can't say I'm expecting it but it would be a huge step forward. The thing I worry about is they get blown out and outclassed by a very good Virginia team, and I'm not sure if this team can handle that.
I agree - I will say the overreaction is probably a little unfair because the reality is these guys were predicted to run 11th in this league and have played over their heads all year.
These games do happen and what I can't figure out is how more haven't happened to this team.
They just need to dig in and grind vs BC and ND.
Agreed Hop, man our fanbase has some of the most fickle fans in the nation. Team will win 20 games and make the tourney with a glued together roster, top 10 schedule, and a new coach and folks just throw them under the bus. If you could look at the schedule with 10 games and think we would do much better than 5-5, you're delusional. 2-4 so far. I'll still take 4-6 and a 6 or 7 seed in the tourney. Chill the F out!
The biggest issue is HOW this team is winning and losing.
Many including me looked at this game as a loss preseason. A few weeks ago, it looked like a win. Now it's a blowout in the wrong direction. The results in these games aren't as simple as talent or coaching, good or bad.
Regardless of HOW we get there, this will still be a good season IMO as long as we make the tourney...

I said after the Clemson game we will only win against ND and BC from here on out. I saw nothing to convince me otherwise. We will see how they bounce back. Will it be post Pitt or post Duke. We shall see. Hope I’m wrong.
The way we’re playing both ND & BC games will be dog fights.
