I realize that FSU is way superior as far as athleticism but so many turnovers were unforced and senseless. Plain and simple - we choked. The team and the staff. We didn’t get into anything in the half court. We should have back cut the living **** out of them. Instead, we succumbed to their ball pressure. Inexcusable, that’s on the entire staff, including my boy (who I love) Chris Mack.

I’d also say the sub pattern was poor and left us exhausted. It was Pitino ball by FSU where all the pressure and hacking is enhanced at home bc the refs can’t/won’t call all the fouls and you get mini runs aided by the crowd. In those games you have to sub early. We had 3 guys play 43+ minutes. They were gassed.

It happens. The only players that have never choked are those who have never played. Even pro players choke occasionally. We need to remember none of those kids are out there trying to screw up. They did today, but it happens. Hopefully they can learn while trying to get better.

No excuse for the number of turnovers. Thought CCM could have done a better job in this one. We got up by ten and it seemed we took our foot off the throttle trying to run clock. An OK idea most of the time but not on a night like this on the opponents' court and when we are turning the ball over. Longer possessions led to no movement on offense and poor shots, plus added to their opportunities to successfully play CRP type defense against us.

Not a choke job, but our inability to finish yesterday was due to-
1. too many minutes for CC/43 min/5 turnovers., Sutton/44 min. 6 turnovers and Nwora/44min. 3 turnovers. When you are fatigued, you are careless.
2. Not a big fan of the 1-4 offense that we use late in games. It eats up the clock (unless we turn it over) and generates free throws, but we quit being aggressive and running our offense.

We are 1-3 in overtimes against good teams that we should have beaten in regulation.

You are right. Especially when you can't really rely on productive bench minutes from Perry and King. Both that seem to come in and vomit all over themselves which is a shame.

This team would be dangerous if King and Perry did anything, but both are a liability at this point on the offensive end.

I tend to agree it is hard to complain about this team, they are better than I thought they would be.

If everyone comes back next year with the same attitude it could be a special year. Need to find a PG though.

The regression of Perry kind of shows up here IMO. He has the "physical" ability to handle pressure defense from an opponent - but he just has not improved so as others have said you got CC playing way too many minutes.

Mack can’t trust Perry with the ball in a tight game, so the burden and minutes fall to CC.

I'm really rooting for Perry but I just don't know if it will come together for him.

This wasn't the only mistake that cost us by any means, but when the ball was inbounded to Perry late in the game and it just slipped or bounced off his hands and out of bounds, with no one guarding him, it kinda summed things up for him in a nut shell this season.
